Accounting Manager

Nanalysis is a manufacturer and global supplier of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) products for the laboratory instrumentation market.

Nanalysis is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager with an active Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation to support month-end close, financial reporting under IFRS within a publicly traded company environment, and oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. The successful candidate will bring strong accounting and Excel skills, experience coaching and mentoring staff, and excellent organizational and communication skills to manage deadlines and support ongoing process improvements.

Key Accountabilities:

· Responsible for month-end close activities, including preparation of supporting schedules and reconciliations.

· Support corporate financial reporting through report preparation, account analysis and variance analysis under IFRS.

· Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies and assist with resolution of reconciling items.

· Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.

· Review filing of sales tax returns and related reconciliations.

· Prepare supporting documentation and respond to audit queries as directed.

· Support finance systems, data validation and data cleansing activities.

· Assist with maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.

· Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.

· Identify discrepancies, process issues and opportunities for improvement and escalate as appropriate.

Requirements:

· Degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.

· Active charter professional accountant designation.

· Experience supporting month-end close activities and financial statement close process.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and priorities.

· Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, PivotTables and working with large data sets.

· Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks or a similar accounting or ERP system.

· Experience with coaching and mentoring staff.

· Experience with supporting external audits.

Nice to Have:

· Experience with accounting system implementations or conversions.

· Experience with data analytics and reporting tools.

· Exposure to Power Query, Power Pivot, DAX and M Code.

· Experience with process documentation, data cleansing or finance process improvement.
