As a Creative Services Coordinator (junior graphic designer) in the Creative Services (Marketing) team at National Bank, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality print and digital creative across marketing initiatives. This role combines junior-level graphic design, production support, creative operations, and digital asset management. The successful candidate will manage the Creative Services inbox. They will additionally support the ongoing maintenance of our Digital Asset Manager (DAM) platform. This role is best suited for someone with formal design training, strong software fundamentals, a portfolio that demonstrates design potential, and a genuine interest in building a career in design and creative operations. We are also looking for someone curious about how AI tools can responsibly support speed, efficiency, and idea exploration, while understanding that strong manual design skills remain essential. Your role:
Design and Production
· Design and produce a range of branded materials for digital and print channels, including social graphics, email newsletter graphics, digital screens, logos, display signage, forms, ads, presentation templates, interactive PDFs, booklets, brochures, posters, and other in-house creative materials.
· Build and adapt HTML5 digital ads using Hype software, ensuring files meet production requirements.
· Prepare clean, accurate, print production-ready files for printers, publishers and media vendors.
· Support basic motion and video production needs, including creating or adapting simple videos and animations.
· Conceptualize and develop original illustrations and adapt existing ones.
· Apply strong layout, typography, hierarchy, image selection, and brand standards across routine design work.
· Consider and apply accessibility principles.
· Review project details, creative briefs, specifications, file formats, colour modes, dimensions, deadlines, and delivery requirements before beginning work.
· Maintain accuracy and consistency across production tasks, including versioning, resizing, adapting, exporting, naming, and packaging files.
- Act as a trusted design partner by engaging stakeholders in discussions about creative approaches, helping to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and recommend solutions.
- Present work for review and guidance from the Art Director, other senior team members, and marketing & brand partners, applying feedback constructively and incorporating revisions to strengthen design quality, effectiveness, brand alignment, and professional growth.
Creative Operations & Digital Asset Manager (DAM)
· Own the Creative Services shared inbox – triage service requests, representing the team.
· Own day-to-day maintenance of the Digital Asset Management platform, including inquiries, uploading, tagging, organizing, naming, archiving, and maintaining creative assets. Attend regular training sessions & implement new processes/features.
Brand Integrity
· Become a knowledgeable steward of the brand by studying and applying comprehensive brand standards across all communication channels. Balance creativity and innovation with brand consistency, ensuring all materials feel fresh, engaging, and effective while maintaining a cohesive brand experience.
Trends and Technology & AI
· Explore and apply responsible, brand-safe AI-assisted tools to support ideation, image exploration, production efficiencies, file preparation, and workflow improvements while maintaining strong design fundamentals, critical thinking, brand judgement, and production accuracy.

Prerequisites:
- Graduate of a recognized graphic design program (diploma or degree (preferred)) equivalent with a focus on graphic design, and/or multi-media is required.
- RGD (Registered Graphic Designers of Canada) or DesCan (Design Professionals of Canada) membership, certification, or active participation in a professional design association is considered an asset.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating creative excellence across print, digital, and motion design is required.
- Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- (Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects)
- Proficiency in Hype for building, animating and outputting HTML5 ads
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook (email management)
- Basic knowledge or desire to learn AI-assisted design workflows, and tools such as Adobe Firefly
- Knowledge of Figma for collaborative design, asset creation, file management, prototyping, and design review workflows.
- Experience or interest in DSLR photography and videography is considered an asset, including capturing employee headshots, workplace imagery, community events, social media content, and behind-the-scenes content to support marketing, communications, and brand initiatives.
- Experience working within established brand standards and applying creative solutions that maintain consistency across multiple channels and formats.
- Experience collaborating with marketing partners, gathering requirements, applying design judgement, and incorporating feedback throughout the creative process.
- Experience with social media channels and creating visual content.
- Experience or interest in Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems is considered an asset.
- Ability to perform routine production and administrative work that requires attention to detail, and concentration.

- Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset. As a national organization, much of our work is produced in both official languages. The successful candidate may assist with the translation and execution of creative assets, documents, presentations, and communications, and should be comfortable using translation tools and resources to support accurate and efficient bilingual production.
Working Conditions:
- Hours of work and schedule may vary in order to support deadline driven work.
- Hybrid work model: You will be required to work from your assigned office location at least two days per week.
