LEAD PYTHON DEVELOPER – IT TREASURY PLATFORMS

A career as a Lead Python Chief Principal Developer in the Treasury IT team at National Bank means acting as a hands-on technical leader for modern technology platforms. This job allows you to have a positive impact on our organization through your software engineering expertise, architectural judgment, and experience delivering reliable solutions in regulated environments. 
Your role 

• Co-lead the technical direction, architecture, and evolution of Treasury technology platforms and related solutions. 
• Analyze business needs and design, build, test, deploy, and support applications, integrations, services, and data-processing capabilities. 
• Plan, refine, prioritize, and assign engineering work with developers, business analysts, users, and line-of-business partners. 
• Define solution architecture, technical decisions, acceptance criteria, validation controls, monitoring, operational procedures, and production-support practices. 
• Strengthen code review, continuous integration and continuous delivery, automated testing, security, documentation, and release-management controls. 
• Mentor engineers and establish practical standards that support shared ownership, early collaboration, continuous improvement, and dependable production outcomes. 
  

Your team Treasury IT is modernizing its technology platforms to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable capabilities that support Treasury and Financial Markets initiatives. You will work closely with technical leadership, developers, business analysts, users, and line-of-business partners in an agile, proactive, and collaborative environment. The team is focused on improving engineering practices while delivering secure, maintainable, scalable, and well-documented solutions.

Requirements 

• Significant hands-on experience as a senior software engineer, lead software engineer, technical lead, or in an equivalent engineering leadership role, including taking new solutions into production. 
• Advanced software development experience in Python or another modern programming language, with the ability to build maintainable and well-tested services, applications, integrations, or processing solutions. 
• Advanced knowledge of software architecture, cloud-native design, application programming interfaces, integration patterns, scalability, resiliency, observability, and security. 
• Practical experience with structured query language, transformation logic, automated testing, infrastructure as code, source control, code review, deployment automation, and continuous integration and continuous delivery. 
• Experience designing and operating cloud-based platforms, application programming interfaces, integration services, distributed systems, data pipelines, or large-scale processing solutions. 
• Experience in Treasury, Financial Markets, risk, regulatory, or another highly governed environment, including security controls, auditability, and production-operating practices.
