Original job description

Put Your Mechanical Skills to Work Where They Truly Matter

Are you someone who naturally likes to figure out how things work? Maybe you are the person friends call when something needs fixing, whether it's assembling equipment, repairing your vehicle, tuning your bike, or tackling projects around the house.

If you enjoy hands-on work, solving problems, and making a real difference in people's lives, we would love to meet you.

Join Our Team as a Mobility Equipment Technician

At National Seating & Mobility (NSM), every repair, installation, and adjustment you make helps someone live a more independent life.

We provide customized mobility and accessibility equipment for children, adults, and seniors. From wheelchairs and hospital beds to ceiling lifts, ramps, and stairlifts, our technicians are trusted experts who help people safely navigate their daily lives.

No two days are the same, and every day you can go home knowing your work had a meaningful impact.

What You'll Do

As a Mobility Equipment Technician, you will combine mechanical know-how with exceptional customer service as you travel throughout your community helping clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering, installing, servicing, and repairing mobility and accessibility equipment in client homes and healthcare facilities.
Assembling, adjusting, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of mobility products.
Educating clients and caregivers on the safe operation and care of their equipment.
Installing products such as wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, grab bars, ramps, ceiling lifts, and stairlifts.
Completing required documentation, including wheelchair setup records.
Maintaining rental equipment and supporting warehouse operations.
Working collaboratively with therapists and healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
Providing outstanding customer service while building positive relationships with clients and their families.
Assisting with inventory management and other branch responsibilities as needed.

What We are Looking For

We are not looking for medical experience - we are looking for mechanical ability, curiosity, and a great attitude.

You will be successful if you:

Enjoy working with your hands and solving mechanical problems.
Have experience using hand and power tools.
Take pride in doing quality work.
Can work independently while being part of a supportive team.
Are dependable, organized, and customer-focused.
Enjoy helping people and making a difference.

You will also need:

A valid driver's license.
The ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs.
Eligibility to work in Canada.
Strong communication skills.

Experience working with mobility or medical equipment is considered an asset, but we will provide the training you need to succeed.

Why Join National Seating & Mobility?

This is more than a technician job - it's an opportunity to build a rewarding career while improving the lives of others.

At NSM you'll enjoy:

Competitive hourly wage of $21–$24 CAD
Employer-paid health and wellness benefits
RRSP matching program
Generous paid time off
Company-sponsored team events
Company-provided apparel
Ongoing product training and career development
A supportive team committed to your success

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you are mechanically inclined, enjoy solving problems, and want a career where every day brings a new challenge and the opportunity to help someone live more independently, we would love to hear from you.

Apply today and help keep people moving.
