OVERVIEW OF DIANA

NATO DIANA is the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic, a NATO body dedicated to finding and accelerating innovation to provide decisive defence and security effects for the Alliance, while fostering deep-tech innovation.

NATO DIANA is comprised of a Board of Directors, representing all 32 nations, and an operational team referred to as the DIANA Executive (“DX”). Operating from three offices in Europe and North America, the DX leverages a network of military end users, world-leading accelerator sites, test centres, professional mentors and experts, and Allied expertise to accelerate the most innovative technologies from across the NATO Alliance. DIANA is a dynamic, agile workplace, which strives for innovative thinking, diversity, and performance excellence across all teams. To achieve our mission, DIANA is committed to providing our people with an environment that is positive, inclusive, and collaborative.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Project Officers provide support to projects and workstreams, applying project management and data analytics skills to help deliver on key projects and initiatives. Project Officers work flexibly across different workstreams and projects over time.

Initially the Project Officer will support the TEVV (Testing, Evaluation, Verification, Validation) Team.

The Project Officer plays a central role in delivering testing, evaluation, verification, and validation activities across the DIANA innovation ecosystem. The role drives key elements of the TEVV workstream by managing complex information, preparing and maintaining high-quality TEVV documentation, and ensuring Test Centre capability data is accurate, accessible, and operationally useful for innovators.

Working closely with affiliated Test Centres, and innovators, the Project Officer ensures TEVV processes run smoothly and that stakeholders receive clear, reliable information to progress technologies toward adoption. The role advances TEVV applications and reporting, resolves operational issues, and leads the development and refinement of tools, workflows, and resources within its areas of responsibility.

Positioned as a hands-on expert within the team, the Project Officer strengthens network engagement, upholds TEVV standards, and ensures the consistency and quality of the workstream.

*Reserve candidates may be considered for similar posts in Estonia or United Kingdom, if appropriate. *

  • Manage the TEVV CRM, including Test Centre profiles and the full TEVV documentation pipeline, ensuring information is up to date and properly governed.
  • Contribute to the design and refinement of the innovator application process and support the facilitation of the committee review cycle.
  • Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for TEVV-related activities, ensuring all processes are codified, scalable, and consistently applied.
  • Monitor TEVV processes, pathways, and infrastructure; identify improvement opportunities; and document lessons learned to strengthen future delivery.
  • Prepare contingency plans to address issues affecting TEVV information management within DIANA and across the stakeholder ecosystem.
  • Aggregate and analyse programme performance data, reporting risks, milestones, and insights to the DX through established mechanisms, and proposing evidence-based mitigation options.
