Original job description
We're hiring our first Lead AV Designer at NDS Integration (Surrey, BC). This is a new seat at NDS, and you'll build it with us.
NDS Integration designs, installs and supports AV, IT, surveillance and low-voltage systems for commercial spaces of every kind – from restaurants and hotels to offices, retail and multi-site brands. Our clients range from single sites to national brands that need every location to work the same way, every time.
What we care about
- Loyalty – win together, lose together
- Customer focus – clients at the centre of everything we do
- Accountability – own it, deliver it
- Transparency – clear, open, no surprises
- Better Every Day – raise the bar, keep improving
The role
You'll take what lives in our heads today and turn it into standards, templates and designs the whole team works from. You'll own design from first walkthrough to as-built, and lead a remote production designer who turns your markups into finished drawings.
What you'll do
- Design AV, video surveillance and low-voltage systems, including structured cabling and networks – from concept through as-builts
- Build our design standards: templates, rack layouts, signal flows, camera layouts, cabling schedules and drawing conventions
- Create standard designs for repeat clients, so each new location starts from a proven package
- Review architectural, electrical and ID drawings and flag gaps early
- Support sales with system designs, equipment lists and scope in NDS OS, our in-house estimating platform
- Hand projects off cleanly to PMs and techs
What you bring
- 3+ years designing commercial AV and low-voltage systems at an integrator or consultant
- Strong AutoCAD or Revit skills – floor plans, rack elevations, signal flow and riser diagrams
- Hands-on knowledge of networked AV, DSP, control systems and IP video surveillance
- You've built standards or templates before, not only followed them
- You own your work and close the loop – no surprises
- CTS or CTS-D is a plus
What we offer
- Pay: $80,000–$110,000 per year, based on experience
- A new role you get to shape, with real ownership from day 1
- Direct access to leadership – your ideas get heard and acted on
- Work with well-known brands on projects across North America
- A growing team that backs each other up
Based in our Surrey office, close to the PMs, the techs and the shop, with some flexibility on where you work once you're up to speed.
How to apply
Apply at ndsav.com/careers with your resume and a few examples of your design work. Tell us about a standard or template you built and what it changed for your team. We'll be in touch within a week.
We take applications directly from candidates – no recruiters or agencies please.
