The NNDSB invites applications for the following LTO position

Immediate to early return of the teacher.

Position

  • Grade 4/5 Teacher

Required Teaching Qualifications

  • A valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate
  • A valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Junior Qualifications

Position Criteria

  • Knowledge of Ministry Curriculum and Assessment documents
  • Demonstrated experience with Apple based software and Mobile devices (iPad/MacBook/iMac)
  • Evidence of understanding of varied learners with a focus on ‘at-risk’ students
  • Evidence of supporting Literacy and Numeracy from a whole school perspective
  • Evidence of integration of technology for the documentation and evaluation of student work
  • Ability to work as part of a school team and to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize EDSBY to support student learning and guardian communication

Responsibilities

Teach a Grade 4/5 class and support student learning, including literacy and numeracy, with attention to varied learners and at-risk students. Integrate technology to document and evaluate student work, use EdSby to support learning and communicate with guardians, and collaborate with the school team.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate and a valid Certificate of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers, with Junior qualifications. Candidates should know Ministry curriculum and assessment documents and demonstrate experience with Apple devices and software, supporting varied learners, integrating technology, using EdSby, and communicating effectively as part of a school team.
