Position: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer

Location: Brampton, ON - Hybrid

Employment Type: Contract

Skills: Microsoft Fabric

Job Description:

Design| develop| and maintain data solutions using Microsoft Fabric components including Data Factory| Data Engineering| Data Warehouse| Lakehouse| and Real-Time Analytics.
Lead and support data migration initiatives from legacy platforms to Microsoft Fabric.
Develop ETL/ELT pipelines| data transformation processes| and integration solutions.
Perform data validation| reconciliation| and quality assurance activities during migration and implementation projects.
Conduct performance testing| tuning| and optimization of data pipelines| datasets| and reporting solutions.
Collaborate with business stakeholders| data architects| and analytics teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
Implement best practices for data governance| security| monitoring| and performance management.
Troubleshoot and resolve data processing| integration| and reporting issues.
Prepare technical documentation| migration strategies| and deployment plans.

Essential Skills:

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years of experience in Data Engineering| Data Warehousing| or Business Intelligence.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and its core services.
Proven experience in data migration projects| including assessment| planning| execution| and validation.
Strong expertise in ETL/ELT development| data integration| and data transformation.
Experience with Performance Testing| Performance Tuning| and Data Validation methodologies.
Strong SQL and database development skills.
Experience working with large-scale datasets and enterprise data platforms.
Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts| dimensional modeling| and data architecture.
Excellent analytical| troubleshooting| and communication skills.

Good to Have:

Experience with Power BI development| dashboards| and semantic models.
Knowledge of SAP Business Objects (BO) reporting and migrations.
Experience working with Sybase databases.
Exposure to Tableau reporting and analytics platforms.
Experience with Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory| Synapse Analytics| Azure SQL).Knowledge of CI/CD| DevOps| and data governance frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

Microsoft Fabric| Azure Data Engineering| or Power BI certifications.
Experience in enterprise data modernization and cloud transformation programs.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
