About the Cybersecurity Analyst - Operations role

Reporting to the Cybersecurity Manager, the Cybersecurity Analyst - Operations will play a key role in monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to security threats across the organization. This position is ideal for a security professional who enjoys hands-on security operation, threat hunting, incident response, and continuous improvement of security controls.

Additional Responsibilities

Lead in detecting and analyzing security incidents, including attacks, breaches, and identified vulnerabilities, and remediate any security gaps in line with the security incident management procedure.
Identify new external developments and/or emerging issues within an area of technology or business function and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
Ensure that business activities within area of responsibility comply with relevant external regulatory and/or voluntary codes and with internal policies and procedures to minimize business risk and to protect the reputation of the organization.

Should have knowledge of NIST CSF & Vulnerability management

What do you need to be successful?

3+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Operations, Security Engineering, SOC, or related security roles.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel, including KQL development, analytics tuning, incident investigation, and automation.
Strong experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, including Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, and Cloud Apps.
Practical experience administering Microsoft Intune compliance policies, device configurations, and security baselines.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Identity Protection, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
Proven experience managing enterprise vulnerability management and remediation programs.
Experience implementing or assessing controls aligned to NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, CIS Controls, or similar frameworks.
Experience with Microsoft Purview, DLP, Information Protection, or data governance initiatives.
Strong understanding of incident response processes, playbooks, and cyber resilience practices.
Experience creating operational and executive dashboards using Power BI.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Would be an asset if you had:

Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500, CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent.
Experience with PowerShell, Python, or security automation.
Threat hunting and MITRE ATT&CK experience.
Experience leading incident response activities or tabletop exercises.
Familiarity with Sentinel Workbooks and Power BI data modeling.

Work location:

The Retail Operations Centre is located in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

The successful candidate must be based in New Brunswick; a hybrid work arrangement is possible.
Semi-regular travel for meetings and project work may be required.

Compensation information:

$ 81,790 – $ 94,891
