  • Join a company recognized as one of Manitoba's Top Employers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Strategy and performance

  • Carry out the Transit quality strategy, annual goals, improvement priorities, and resource plans.
  • Ensure consistent quality measures and review processes are in place across Transit plants. Use information provided by the Quality teams to identify key trends, risks, and priorities.
  • Keep senior leadership informed about quality performance, major risks, and recovery plans, and focus resources on the issues with the greatest impact.

Leadership and organization

  • Lead the Transit plant Quality Managers and hold them accountable for results and consistent execution of the New Flyer Quality Management System.
  • Build capable, well-trained Quality teams with the right staffing. Maintain succession plans for key leadership and technical roles, identify and develop potential successors, and regularly review readiness.

  • Carry out the responsibilities associated with being a member of the Director Leadership team.
  • Keep the Quality organization current with new technology while continuing to identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve efficiency.

Quality system, risk, and corrective action

  • Drive consistent use of the New Flyer Quality tools and make sure teams have the training, resources and support needed to use them effectively.
  • Lead the ongoing review and improvement of the Transit Quality Management System and support ISO 9001 registration, audits, management review, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Set expectations for containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and effectiveness checks for significant or recurring issues.

  • Promote quality ownership at the source and reinforce that inspection is not a substitute for process discipline.
  • Support Lean and Operational Excellence by building defect prevention, standardized work, problem solving, and quality assurance into everyday work.
  • Drive consistent use of approved quality tools and support practical improvements to quality processes, systems, technology, and data capabilities.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
