Business Analyst (ID#5574)

New Value Solutions is recruiting experienced Senior Business Analysts to support Government of Canada IT consulting engagements focused on enterprise systems modernization, digital transformation, business process improvement, and technology implementation.

We are seeking accomplished Business Analysts who can work effectively within complex government environments, engage diverse stakeholders, and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead business requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and validation activities.
• Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions to identify business needs and priorities.
• Analyze current-state business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and develop future-state process models.
• Develop business requirements documents, functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct business and systems impact assessments, gap analyses, and options evaluations.
• Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, developers, and business stakeholders to support technology implementations.
• Support testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), change management, and implementation readiness activities.
• Prepare presentations, recommendations, and decision-support materials for senior management and project stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Extensive professional experience in business analysis, preferably within large, complex IT or business transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience leading requirements gathering and business process analysis activities.
• Strong experience facilitating workshops and working with senior business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience developing requirements documentation, process models, functional specifications, and related business analysis deliverables.
• Knowledge of business analysis methodologies, techniques, and tools, including Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams on enterprise technology initiatives.
• Relevant post-secondary education in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience supporting Government of Canada departments or agencies.
• Experience working on large-scale public sector IT modernization or transformation initiatives.
• CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or other relevant business analysis certifications.
• Experience with tools such as Microsoft Visio, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with Government of Canada project governance, documentation, and delivery practices.
• Existing Government of Canada Reliability Status or Secret security clearance.
