New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking an Intermediate Security & Network Analyst to provide part-time Tier 2 security, network, and IT operations support. This role will work closely with internal technical staff to support security assessments, access management, infrastructure security, backup monitoring, IT projects, and day-to-day technical support.
This is an initial 3-month, part-time contract requiring approximately 4 hours per day, with the potential to transition into a full-time opportunity based on business needs and performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate seeking to grow into a longer-term role supporting IT security, networking, and infrastructure operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct security audits of external SaaS providers and document findings and recommendations.
- Respond to Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) requests and support user access administration.
- Review security assessments, alerts, and warnings from Microsoft Defender, Field Effect, and Obsidian Security.
- Investigate security issues, recommend remediation activities, and implement approved changes under the direction of senior technical staff.
- Assist with SQL Server security audits and related security improvements.
- Support security initiatives involving Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Microsoft Purview, MCP, and Passkeys.
- Monitor daily backups, investigate failures, and address identified issues.
- Provide Tier 2 technical support and troubleshooting across security, networking, and IT infrastructure environments.
- Assist with IT equipment purchasing, including laptops and related hardware.
- Support ongoing IT projects, helpdesk activities, and general technical operations.
- Maintain documentation of security findings, technical issues, and implemented changes.
- Collaborate with internal technical staff to prioritize tasks and complete assigned activities.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience providing Tier 2 technical support across IT security, networking, systems administration, or infrastructure environments.
- Strong working knowledge of network and infrastructure security concepts.
- Experience reviewing security alerts, investigating technical issues, and implementing remediation activities.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender or similar security monitoring and threat detection platforms.
- Experience supporting identity and access management, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Experience troubleshooting network, server, endpoint, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Knowledge of backup monitoring, troubleshooting, and recovery processes.
- Familiarity with security assessments, vulnerability management, and security best practices.
- Experience or familiarity with SaaS security reviews and SQL Server security.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Passkeys, or related security technologies is an asset.
- Experience with Field Effect and/or Obsidian Security is an asset.
- Experience supporting IT projects, helpdesk operations, and IT equipment purchasing is an asset.
- Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while following the direction of senior technical staff.
- Availability to work approximately 4 hours per day for an initial 3-month contract, with potential for full-time hours.
