Systems Analyst (ID#5559)

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Systems Analyst to support the analysis, design, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of computer systems. The successful candidate will work on requirements, feasibility analysis, system design, technical specifications, data conversion, system implementation, and production system analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Develop requirements, feasibility, cost, design, and specification documents for new or production systems.
• Gather and analyze data for studies to establish the technical and economic feasibility of proposed computer systems.
• Analyze functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows and recommend alternatives for solutions.
• Define and document interfaces between manual and automated operations within sub-systems, external systems, and new and existing systems.
• Define input and output sources, including a detailed plan for the technical design phase.
• Define and document systems components, interfaces, and operational environments.
• Define data structures and files, sub-systems and modules, programs, batch and online processes, production monitoring procedures, testing strategies, and systems.
• Document systems designs, concepts, and facilities and present detailed system designs for approval.
• Translate business requirements into system designs and technical specifications.
• Work with developers to model and produce functional prototypes and operational systems, including forms, manuals, programs, data files, and procedures.
• Implement systems to support projects, departments, organizations, or businesses.
• Create, update, and maintain procedures and standards.
• Maintain up-to-date business knowledge of standards, policies, and processes.
• Provide expert consultation in production system analysis, performance, scalability, security, and maintenance.
• Analyze and coordinate data file conversions, including mapping, interfaces, mock conversion work, enhancements, actual conversion, and verification of the completeness and accuracy of converted data.
• Work with importing and restructuring files and data from various sources and in diverse formats.
• Contribute to the work breakdown structure and Project Plan.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of relevant experience as a Systems Analyst.
• Experience developing requirements, feasibility, cost, design, and specification documents for new or production systems.
• Experience analyzing functional and business requirements and translating them into system designs and technical specifications.
• Experience defining and documenting systems components, interfaces, operational environments, data structures, files, sub-systems, modules, programs, and procedures.
• Experience supporting functional prototypes and operational system development.
• Experience implementing systems to support projects, departments, organizations, or businesses.
• Experience creating, updating, and maintaining procedures and standards.
• Experience with production system analysis, including performance, scalability, security, and maintenance.
• Experience analyzing and coordinating data file conversions, including mapping, interfaces, mock conversions, actual conversions, and verification.
• Experience importing and restructuring files and data from various sources and formats.
• Experience contributing to work breakdown structures and project plans.
