Red Chris is an open-pit copper-gold mine in the famous Golden Triangle of northern British Columbia, situated on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. As a fly-in, fly-out operation, Red Chris is reached via charter flights from multiple locations in BC and Alberta, with teams working on a rotational schedule. Currently an active open-pit producer, Red Chris is poised for an exciting transformation – we are developing a high-value underground block cave that will extend the mine’s life for decades and unlock even more resources. The remote location fosters a close-knit “camp” community where safety and teamwork come first. Your Impact
As a Technician, Environment, you will play a key role in supporting environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance through environmental monitoring, field sampling, and data management activities. Your work will help protect the environment while supporting safe and sustainable mining operations.
As Part of the Team, You Will
- Conduct environmental field sampling and monitoring programs, including surface water and groundwater monitoring.
- Prepare, maintain, and calibrate environmental sampling equipment.
- Manage and validate environmental data, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Upload and maintain records in Monitor Pro and other environmental reporting systems.
- Support environmental investigations, monitoring programs, reporting, and compliance initiatives.
- Coordinate with operations, contractors, consultants, and laboratories during field programs.
- Contribute to environmental incident response, sampling, and remediation activities.
- Champion safe work practices and support a safety-first culture across site.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- Diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of environmental field experience, preferably within mining or industrial operations.
- Experience conducting groundwater and surface water sampling and monitoring.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and environmental data management systems.
- Experience with Monitor Pro or similar environmental databases is considered an asset.
- Valid BC Class 5 driver's license or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying cold weather and site conditions.
Your Work Environment
- Fly-in/fly-out role based at Red Chris Mine near Dease Lake, British Columbia.
- 15 days on / 13 days off rotation.
- Camp accommodations provided, including meals, Wi-Fi, fitness, and recreational facilities.
- Field-based position with a combination of outdoor environmental monitoring and office-based data management responsibilities,

The expected salary range for this role is CA$72,700 - $90,900. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
