Original job description

Workplace Type: Onsite

Newmont produces metals the world needs - safely, responsibly and with care for people, communities and the environment. With a 100+ year history, we continue to shape the future of mining through innovation and strong operational performance. By joining our inclusive, world-class team, you can help shape the future of mining and make a meaningful difference.

Brucejack is one of the highest-grade gold mines in the world – a remote underground operation famously located on top of a glacier in northwestern British Columbia. With a fly-in, fly-out roster and on-site camp, our team works in a truly unique environment, using modern mining methods to safely extract gold and silver from deep beneath the ice. The challenges of Brucejack’s location create a tight-knit team spirit: safety, adaptability and camaraderie are paramount in everything we do. We are quietly proud of our strong partnerships with local First Nations and nearby communities, which help us operate responsibly and share benefits in the region. Brucejack offers the rare opportunity to build a career on the cutting edge of mining, delivering world-class results in an environment like no other.

Your Impact

As a Reliability Advisor, Mobile Assets, you will play a key role in improving equipment reliability, performance, and maintenance effectiveness across our surface and underground mobile fleets. Using data-driven insights, failure analysis, and defect elimination strategies, you will influence maintenance, operations, and supply chain decisions that maximize asset performance and reduce operating costs.

As Part of the Team

Lead reliability and condition monitoring initiatives, including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasonic testing.
Facilitate root cause analyses and drive defect elimination programs.
Identify recurring equipment issues and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
Collaborate with operators, maintainers, planners, and vendors to optimize maintenance strategies.
Support criticality assessments, parts optimization, and critical spares planning.
Analyze equipment performance data and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide reliability expertise for equipment rebuilds, maintenance planning, and asset strategy development.

Prerequisites

Mechanical Engineering background; P.Eng designation preferred.
5+ years of reliability experience in a mining, industrial, or heavy equipment environment.
Strong understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles.
Experience working with CMMS systems and maintaining asset data.
CMRP or MMP designation is considered an asset.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience with mobile equipment fleets is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

Fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) camp-based role at Brucejack Mine in northern British Columbia.
Work closely with maintenance, operations, supply chain, and corporate teams.
Exposure to both surface and underground mobile equipment environments.
Collaborative culture focused on safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

What's in it for You

100% employer-paid benefits, including medical, dental, paramedical services, a Health Spending Account, and more.
Defined Contribution Pension Plan with company contributions of up to 9%.
$1,000 annual Learning and Physical Wellness benefit.
Travel allowance (dependent on location of hire and site-based eligibility), in addition to company-paid commercial and charter flights.
Camp accommodations with private rooms and individual washrooms.
Access to fitness facilities, recreation programs, and a vibrant camp community.
Opportunities for professional growth with a world-class mining organization.

The expected salary range for this role is CAD $85,400 - $113,900.00 + 15% STIP. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.

At Newmont, our people are our strength and we're committed to a safe, inclusive and supportive workplace. If you're passionate about doing work that matters, join Newmont and help shape the future of mining.
