Original job description

Workplace Type: Onsite

Newmont produces metals the world needs - safely, responsibly and with care for people, communities and the environment. With a 100+ year history, we continue to shape the future of mining through innovation and strong operational performance. By joining our inclusive, world-class team, you can help shape the future of mining and make a meaningful difference.

Brucejack is one of the highest-grade gold mines in the world – a remote underground operation famously located on top of a glacier in northwestern British Columbia. With a fly-in, fly-out roster and on-site camp, our team works in a truly unique environment, using modern mining methods to safely extract gold and silver from deep beneath the ice. The challenges of Brucejack’s location create a tight-knit team spirit: safety, adaptability and camaraderie are paramount in everything we do. We are quietly proud of our strong partnerships with local First Nations and nearby communities, which help us operate responsibly and share benefits in the region. Brucejack offers the rare opportunity to build a career on the cutting edge of mining, delivering world-class results in an environment like no other.

Your Impact

Play a key role in optimizing ore extraction at Brucejack by providing geological expertise that supports safe, efficient, and data-driven mining operations. Working closely with Technical Services, Mine Planning, and Operations, you will help maximize resource recovery while minimizing dilution and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

As Part of the Team, You Will

Support underground grade control, geological mapping, and core logging activities.
Interpret drilling and assay data to support short-term mine planning.
Collaborate with geology, planning, and operations teams to optimize orebody extraction.
Review development and production plans to ensure geological accuracy.
Participate in reconciliation activities and geological model updates.
Maintain high standards for safety, environmental stewardship, and data quality.
Contribute to operational improvement projects and technical studies.

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

Bachelor’s degree in Geology.
1-3 years of underground mining or production geology experience.
P.Geo. or GIT designation with EGBC, or ability to obtain registration.
Experience with geological interpretation, grade control, and production monitoring.
Proficiency with Vulcan, Deswik, and Microsoft Office; experience with Pitram, Acquire, Krux, or Leapfrog is considered an asset.
Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work safely in an underground mining environment.

Your Work Environment

This is a site-based FIFO opportunity supporting the Brucejack operation. You will work closely with Technical Services, Operations, and Mine Planning teams in a fast-paced underground mining environment focused on safety, collaboration, and operational excellence. Candidates must reside in North America and be eligible to work in Canada on a FIFO basis.

What We Offer

Competitive compensation package.
100% employer-paid benefits, including medical, dental, paramedical services, health spending account, and more.
Defined Contribution Pension Plan with company contributions of up to 9%.
$1,000 annual Learning and Physical Wellness benefit.
Travel allowance (dependent on location of hire if site-based), in addition to company-paid commercial and charter flights.
Opportunities for professional growth, development, and career advancement.

The expected salary range for this role is CAD $94,100.00 - $125,400.00 + 15% STIP. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.

At Newmont, our people are our strength and we're committed to a safe, inclusive and supportive workplace. If you're passionate about doing work that matters, join Newmont and help shape the future of mining.
