Our financial services client requires an experienced Senior z/OS Connect & IMS Systems Programmer to support, maintain and enhance enterprise mainframe infrastructure within a large-scale z/OS environment. The successful candidate will provide hands-on systems programming support for IBM z/OS Connect, IMS and related mainframe technologies, while working closely with engineering, application development and architecture teams. Required to:
- Maintain and support z/OS Connect and IMS infrastructure on the z/OS platform
- Support z/OS Connect, IMS and related products
- Participate in the analysis, build, testing and deployment of mainframe infrastructure and system changes
- Provide technical support to Business Analysts, Engineers and Application Developers
- Troubleshoot system and application issues within the mainframe environment
- Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure and application development teams
- Participate in 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of mainframe systems programming and/or application experience
- Strong understanding of IBM mainframe and the z/OS platform, components and architecture
- Knowledge of SMP/E, OMEGAMON and System Automation
- Exposure to Sysplex, z/OS performance, Db2, CICS, MQ and TCP/IP
- Assembler and COBOL programming knowledge is an asset
- Performance analysis experience is an asset
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills
- College/university education or equivalent relevant experience
