Through our family of brands, we design, build, deliver, and support vehicles that help connect people and communities around the world. Our teams work together across manufacturing, engineering, customer care, service, supply chain, finance, human resources, marketing, and many other functions to create transportation solutions that are safe, accessible, and sustainable. Every role at NFI Group helps move people forward.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Environment, Health & Safety Manager, you will support the day-to-day leadership and delivery of EHS programs within a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with site leaders, employees, and cross-functional teams to strengthen safe work practices, address hazards, support investigations, and ensure regulatory and company requirements are followed. You will help drive training, emergency preparedness, return-to-work activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting consistent EHS practices across locations. This role is an important part of building a proactive safety culture focused on prevention, accountability, and employee well-being.

WHY JOIN US:

Be part of a team whose work helps connect people and communities every day.
Contribute to innovative transportation solutions that make travel safer, more accessible, and more sustainable.
Build a rewarding career with opportunities to learn and grow across our family of companies.
Join an inclusive workplace culture where team members are valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
Passionate about creating a better product, a better workplace, and a better world.
Earn competitive wages and receive a comprehensive benefit package with immediate benefit eligibility.
Registered Pension Plan with generous company match.
Enjoy vacation time, paid holidays, and programs that support team member well-being and work-life balance.
Access on-the-job training in a continuous learning environment.
Join a company recognized as one of Manitoba's Top Employers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Lead and continuously improve emergency response, hazard control, and health & safety programs, including inspections, exposure assessments, and hands-on EHS support.
Lead emergency preparedness, hazard response, and health surveillance programs (e.g., hearing tests, JHSC, respirator fit testing).
Oversee workers' compensation claims, return-to-work processes, and health and safety investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Provide EHS guidance for facility and production activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Develop and deliver EHS training, lead inspections, and track compliance with environmental and waste management regulations.
Monitor occupational exposures, conduct risk assessments, and analyze EHS performance data to drive improvements.
Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems, audit readiness, and maintain ICFR controls related to EHS.
Ensure alignment and standardization of EHS practices across multiple sites, collaborating with U.S. and Canadian teams.
Maintain current knowledge of EHS regulations, integrate changes into site operations, and support internal audits.
Provide day-to-day leadership for on-site security personnel and support emergency response protocols.
Ensure policies, procedures, and legal requirements are effectively implemented and followed

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESFUL:

Previous leadership experience with a minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience working in both manufacturing and unionized settings.
Degree or certification in Occupational Safety & Health; CRSP designation or eligibility is preferred.
Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and general industry hygiene standards.
Certified in First Aid with a solid understanding of emergency response procedures.
Demonstrated experience in planning, conducting, and tracking EHS compliance audits and hazard assessments.
Proficient in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Job Assessments (JA), and gap analysis.
Skilled in developing, delivering, and evaluating impactful EHS training programs for diverse audiences.

Physical & Workplace Requirements:

NFI Group maintains a drug-free workplace in accordance with applicable laws and contractual requirements.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including noise, dust, fumes, and temperature fluctuations, while wearing required PPE.
Strong safety awareness and adherence to workplace procedures.
Up to 5% travel; must be eligible to travel within Canada or the United States.

Standard Work Schedule: Days | 7:30AM - 4:00PM

OUR WHY:

At NFI Group, our purpose is simple: We Move People. Every day, our buses, coaches, parts, technology, and services help connect people.

Across our family of brands, thousands of team members work together to design, build, deliver, and support transportation solutions that are safe, accessible, reliable, and sustainable. Whether you're building vehicles on the production floor, supporting customers, developing new technologies, or helping our business grow, your work helps keep communities moving.
