Job Title: Solutions Architect/Technical Lead - Java

Location: Toronto, Canada (3-4 days WFO)

Hire Type: Contract

Mandatory Skills: Banking experience must, Java, Microservices, Event Processing, SQL Microservices, AKS. Databricks is nice to have but not required

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect with strong expertise in designing and delivering scalable enterprise applications using Java, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, SQL, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). The ideal candidate will drive architecture decisions, define technical solutions, and lead development teams in building high-performance, cloud-native applications.

This role requires hands-on architectural leadership, strong design skills, and experience implementing distributed systems within large-scale enterprise environments. Databricks knowledge is desirable but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define end-to-end architecture for enterprise applications and integration platforms.
  • Design scalable and resilient Microservices-based architectures.
  • Lead technical design discussions and architectural governance.
  • Design and implement event-driven solutions using messaging and streaming platforms.
  • Architect containerized solutions using AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service).
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
  • Establish API standards, integration patterns, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, QA teams, and infrastructure teams.
  • Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, security, and reliability requirements.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical risk assessments.
  • Support CI/CD implementation and cloud modernization initiatives.

Experience Required

  • 10–14 years of overall IT experience.
  • 5+ years in Architecture, Technical Lead, or Design Lead roles.
  • Strong experience in enterprise application architecture and cloud migration initiatives.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale distributed systems and Microservices solutions.
