Original job description

Electronic Assembler

Location: Hamilton, Ontario | Department: Production | Contract type: Permanent, Full-Time

At Nix Sensor Ltd., we specialize in creating exceptional products that empower color professionals and consumers to unravel the mysteries of color. Our flagship product, the Nix Mini 3 offers a magical experience akin to the Photoshop eyedropper, bridging the gap between the physical and digital worlds. With Nix, users can seamlessly translate real-world colors into digital formats and vice versa.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Production Team. Someone with a passion for excellence. We would like to see this role develop into a Lead Role, to support with oversight of the Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to grow their career beyond hands-on assembly work and into a leadership position. The successful candidate will initially focus on product assembly and quality assurance while gradually assuming increased responsibility for team coordination, training, and production oversight.

NIX SENSOR LTD is seeking to fill the role of Electronic Assembler. As part of our dynamic team, you will contribute to the development and production of Nix Color Sensor products. Your responsibilities will include building and assessing product quality, ensuring that our sensors meet rigorous specifications.

NIX SENSOR LTD offers competitive salary packages, an incredible work environment, and career advancement opportunities.

What will you do?

Product Development:

Collaborate with the team to build Nix Color Sensor products.
Contribute to the design, development, and improvement of color sensors.

Quality Assessment:

Perform rigorous tests to ensure that the devices meet specified quality standards.
Identify any deviations or issues and work towards resolution.

Production Assistance:

Assist in the production process, ensuring that the devices are manufactured consistently and homogeneously across batches.
Monitor production lines and address any quality-related concerns promptly.

Collaboration and Adaptability:

Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Work alongside dynamic team members to achieve common goals.

Lead the Production Team:

Support the coordination of daily production activities, helping to prioritize work, maintain workflow efficiency, and ensure production targets are achieved.
Provide guidance, training, and support to team members, promoting quality workmanship, consistency, and adherence to established processes.
Assist with onboarding and training new Production Team members, helping them quickly become proficient in assembly, testing, and quality standards.
Act as a resource for team members by helping troubleshoot production, assembly, and quality-related issues and escalating concerns when appropriate.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with management to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall production performance.
Demonstrate leadership potential by taking on increasing responsibility over time, with the opportunity to progress into a Production Team Lead role.

What will you need?

Electronics Assembly Skills
Quality Control: Ability to conduct rigorous tests and inspections to ensure product quality meets standards.
Technical Aptitude: Understanding of electronics and sensor technology.
Problem-Solving: Capability to identify and resolve assembly or testing issues.
Team Collaboration: Strong communication skills to work effectively with colleagues.
Adaptability: Flexibility to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Attention to Detail: Precision in assembly and quality assessment tasks.
Past Leadership experience would be an asset in this role
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety procedures to prevent accidents.
Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated on industry advancements.
Successful candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive background check

What We Value:

Creativity and Fresh Approaches: We thrive on innovative thinking and seek out unconventional solutions rather than cookie-cutter approaches.
Exceptional Advisors and Investors: Backed by the best minds in Canada, we’re poised for success.
Growth and Impact: Nix ranks No. 33 on the 2018 Startup 50 list of Canada’s Top New Growth Companies. Join us in shaping the next great Canadian success story.
Passion for Excellence: Our highly motivated team takes immense pride in crafting remarkable products
