Original job description

Company Description

NLI Solutions is Canada’s leading B2B distribution, marketing, and sales partner, supporting brands across retail, telecommunications, and loyalty programs. The company specializes in product distribution, brand management, and third-party logistics (3PL), helping organizations reach new markets and scale efficiently. With strong expertise in market trends, consumer engagement, and sales strategy, NLI Solutions delivers customized solutions that connect products with the right customers through strategic partnerships, corporate gifting, and retail placements. The organization is SOC 2 certified, demonstrating a commitment to rigorous standards of data security, availability, and integrity for its clients. NLI Solutions focuses on trusted, compliant services that drive growth and measurable results for its partners.

About the Role

NLI Solutions is looking for a highly organized, proactive and detail-oriented Junior Account Manager – Retail to support our Senior Account Managers in managing key retail clients and brand partners.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in account management, retail and consumer products. The Junior Account Manager will work closely with Senior Account Managers and internal teams to support day-to-day client and brand needs, coordinate product and promotional activity, maintain accurate account information and help ensure programs are executed successfully.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, extremely organized, comfortable working with data and spreadsheets, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Account & Client Support

Support Senior Account Managers with the day-to-day management of retail accounts.
Assist with client requests, follow-ups, presentations and account administration.
Help prepare for client meetings, line reviews, assortment reviews and business reviews.
Maintain action-item lists and follow up with internal teams to ensure deadlines and client commitments are met.
Build strong working relationships with client contacts and provide responsive day-to-day support.
Assist with new client and account onboarding as required.

Brand & Product Support

Work with NLI's brand partners to collect product information, pricing, imagery, specifications and new product launch details.
Maintain accurate product and SKU information for assigned accounts.
Support new SKU setup and product listing requirements.
Communicate new product launches, discontinued items, substitutions and product changes to the appropriate teams.
Assist Senior Account Managers in identifying products and brands that may be relevant to specific retail clients.

Promotions & Retail Programs

Support the coordination and execution of client promotions, seasonal programs and product launches.
Assist with promotional submissions, pricing updates and required client documentation.
Track promotional calendars and key deadlines.
Coordinate internally to ensure pricing, inventory and product information are accurate before programs go live.
Help monitor promotional results and prepare post-program reporting.

Sales & Reporting

Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for Senior Account Managers.
Track account and SKU performance and identify notable sales trends.
Assist with forecasts, inventory reviews and account performance reporting.
Maintain account trackers, pricing files and other reporting tools.
Support preparation of presentations and business reviews.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with Account Management, Brand Management, Inventory, Purchasing, Operations, Marketing, Finance and Customer Service.
Help coordinate inventory requirements and communicate upcoming promotions and opportunities.
Assist in resolving day-to-day client issues by coordinating with the appropriate internal teams.
Ensure information is communicated clearly between the client, brand partner and NLI teams.

What We're Looking For

1–3 years of experience in account coordination, account management, retail, sales, consumer products, merchandising or a related role.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities at the same time.
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Comfortable working with product, pricing, sales and inventory data.
Proactive approach with a willingness to follow through and take ownership.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Experience working with retailers or consumer brands is an asset.

What Success Looks Like

The Junior Account Manager helps make the Senior Account Managers and their accounts more successful.

You stay ahead of deadlines, ensure information is accurate, follow up without being asked, keep projects moving and make sure both clients and brand partners receive the support they need.

As you develop your understanding of NLI's brands, clients and retail business, you will be given increasing responsibility and the opportunity to independently manage accounts and grow into a full Account Manager role.

The ideal candidate is someone who sees what needs to be done and takes initiative - organized, responsive, accountable and always willing to jump in and help the team succeed.
