Original job description
About the Company
Nobis is a Canadian-founded global performance luxury outerwear brand known for combining technical innovation with refined design. With distribution across North America, Europe, and Asia, Nobis operates through a mix of direct-to-consumer, wholesale, and international partnerships, including a joint venture in Asia.
About the Role
We are hiring a Director of Finance to lead financial strategy and operations across Nobis and the InnoVision Group, its parent company. This role sits at the intersection of global operations, multi-channel growth (DTC and wholesale), and financial discipline. It requires a leader who can balance strategic thinking with rigorous cash flow management and operational efficiency.
As the business continues to evolve across multiple markets and channels, we are focused on strengthening our financial foundation: enhancing visibility, improving cash flow discipline, and ensuring sustainable, profitable growth.
We are looking for someone who doesn’t wait to be asked. You will get close to the business, understand how every team operates, and use that knowledge to turn finance into a true partner in decision-making.
Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning
- Support leadership with scenario modeling, investment analysis, and strategic decision-making
- Provide financial insight to support growth initiatives while maintaining discipline on profitability
Reporting & Performance
- Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting with clear, actionable insights
- Drive visibility into performance by channel and market
- Identify opportunities for margin improvement, cost optimization, and operational efficiency
Operations & Cash Management
- Oversee core finance functions including AP/AR, payroll, and product costing
- Own cash flow planning, liquidity management, and working capital optimization
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial processes
Business Partnership & Initiative
- Proactively engage with teams across the business, including sales, merchandising, product, operations, marketing, and e-commerce, to understand how they work and what drives their results
- Take initiative to identify risks, opportunities, and improvements before they are raised, and bring forward recommendations, not just reports
- Act as a trusted finance partner to leadership and department heads, translating numbers into clear, practical guidance
Global Partnerships
- Oversee financial operations and reporting across international JVs and distributors, particularly in Asia
- Partner with global stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparency, and accountability
Systems, Infrastructure & AI
- Lead ongoing development and optimization of financial systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Enhance dashboards and reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making
- Adopt AI tools responsibly to improve workflows and generate insight, with verification of every output before it informs a decision
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of 3–4 professionals
- Build a culture of accountability, rigor, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, or accounting leadership
- Experience in consumer goods, retail, or apparel (preferred)
- Strong background in financial planning, reporting, and cash flow management
- Experience working with international operations (JVs, distributors; Asia exposure a plus)
- Proven ability to drive profitability, cost discipline, and operational efficiency
- Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred)
- CPA or equivalent designation (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- A hands-on, structured, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
Why join Nobis and InnoVision
At Nobis and InnoVision, you’ll be part of a dynamic, international brand platform with strategic and a clear focus on long-term value creation. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the financial foundation of a business operating across multiple markets and channels - where your impact will be both strategic and immediate.
Equal Opportunity Statement
We are committed to diversity and inclusivity in our hiring practices and strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
