Key responsibilities:
- Effective troubleshooting and repair of extrusion equipment.
- Carry out day to day preventative maintenance checks.
- Complete assigned work orders.
- Respond to equipment breakdown calls.
- Continually update spare parts data.
- Report in SCS/ Maintenance database completed work orders and equipment downtime.
- Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all equipment related to production
- Identify root and trend analysis, providing innovative solutions to resolve and remedy hydraulic
- Provide recommendations for continual improvements and maximize efficiencies.
- Pass on technical/mechanical information to mechanical apprentice.
- Learn extrusion processes from mechanic A.
- Maintain a safe work environment, complying with the Company's Health & Safety guidelines.
- New hires may be required to rotate shifts (Midnights, Afternoons and Day shift – the frequency
What will make you successful?
Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within industrial environment.
- Experience in the aluminium extrusion industry is an asset.
- High school diploma or work experience equivalent.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Provincial Certificate of Qualifications as
- Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing and welding d
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Able to do basic welding and torching.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple daily assignments with minimal
- Knowledge of extrusion equipment would be a definite asse

Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair extrusion equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and complete and document work orders and equipment downtime. Identify recurring equipment issues, recommend efficiency improvements, share technical knowledge with an apprentice, and maintain a safe work environment.
Requirements
Requires at least five years of industrial experience, a high school diploma or equivalent work experience, and a valid Ontario Certificate of Qualifications as a Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright. Candidates should be able to read blueprints and relevant system drawings, troubleshoot effectively, perform basic welding and torching, and manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision; aluminium extrusion experience is an asset.
