Original job description

This position is one of three in Northern Health (NH) with shared responsibility for the day to day support and coordination of the communicable disease program across the North. The Communicable Disease Program Coordinator reports directly to the Regional Manager Communicable Disease. This position provides professional and clinical leadership in tactical planning, development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures, supports and standards related to the delivery of communicable disease prevention and control services across Northern Health.
In collaboration with the Public Health Program Leaders and Integrated Health Team Leaders, the Communicable Disease Program Coordinator supports the Public Health Resource Nurses (PHRNs) and Integrated Health Service Health Care Providers to implement communicable disease, including immunization, programs, policies and procedures, and monitors practice standards and participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives. The Communicable Disease Program Coordinator is an active member of NH’s Centralized Communicable Disease Control Team.
