Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is growing, and we're on the lookout for highly motivated, safety-conscious Ironworkers (Site-Based), whose primary responsibilities are installing or dismantling structural steel according to engineered prints and quality standards. Quality work and timely completion of all aspects of work performed is required. Fortis is a proud Saskatchewan-based company known for our innovation, integrity, and deep ties to the communities we serve.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test will be required as a condition of employment.

Project Details
- The primary work location for project assignments will be underground
- Collaboration - complementary Group of Companies servicing the mining and construction industries
- Innovation- if it doesn’t exist, we will engineer and manufacture it

- Project assignment may include underground and/or surface work
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Install various types of rigging and other hoisting equipment
- Disassembly and/or removal of existing structural steel components
- Assemble and/or installation of new or modified structural steel components
- Operator hoisting and lifting devices
- Must provide proof of Ironworker Journeyperson Certificate or Apprentice level status; qualified Journeyperson preferred, willing to consider apprentice
- Valid fall protection certification
- Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Commitment to working safely and following safety protocol
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to use judgement and apply discretion when making decisions
- Ability to work alone or in a team environment
- Strong time-management skills
- Any safety-related training and certificates would be beneficial, but not required

Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, install rigging and hoisting equipment, and assemble or remove structural steel components to engineered prints and quality standards. Operate hoisting and lifting devices while completing assigned underground or surface work safely and on time.
Requirements
Applicants must provide proof of an Ironworker Journeyperson Certificate or apprentice status; a qualified journeyperson is preferred, though apprentices may be considered. A valid fall protection certification, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a commitment to safety are required; additional safety training is beneficial but not required.
