Job Summary

The Facilities Manager is responsible for all facilities at Grouse Mountain. The Manager oversees a team of carpenters, plumbers, painters and other various maintenance staff.

Essential Job Functions

Responsible for the construction and renovation of structures from ground excavation to all finishing work.
Maintains Fire systems in all buildings and portable equipment
Works closely with project Managers to provide advice and guidance to construction or maintenance plan designs
Develops project budgets in conjunction with project manager and maintains project targets
Prepares and implements with the director of Maintenance and Facilities an annual financial plan
Follows procedures in place to order parts, supplies and equipment for projects and normal operating expenses
Provides input to the preventative maintenance system
Ensures and enforces that all facilities staff follow safe work procedures and follow company policies and procedures
Responsible for the scheduling of all facilities staff
Maintains and upkeeps all kitchen equipment
Maintains and meets all budget targets
Responsible hiring, orientation, training, coaching, performance management, and administrative duties required for the Facilities department
Responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the water treatment plant
Maintains records and provides reports when required
Other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibility Directly provides supervision to team of Carpenters, Plumbers, Painters, Apprentices and Maintenance Helpers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

Completion of a Journeyman certificate related to building trades
Water Treatment Certification, Level 3 or higher
Minimum of 5-10 years work experience in a related field
Knowledge of the Canadian Building Code required
Previous construction and project management an asset
Microsoft Office skills required
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and other specifications and technical information

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is a full-time, year-round leadership role. On-site presence required; may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as resort operations demand. Indoor and outdoor work environments, including exposure to mountain weather conditions.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$90,000 to $110,000 annually
