Original job description

The Account Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager of Sales, is responsible for growing and maintaining revenues within the general business market for assigned accounts within the sales territory. This is accomplished by developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, overseeing clients' telecommunications equipment and service requirements, identifying opportunities to support their evolving business needs, and ensuring a high level of day-to-day customer service and account management.

Specific Accountabilities

Develop the general business market within the assigned accounts to grow and maintain revenues through the sale of telecommunications products and services and the delivery of a high level of customer service.
Develop telecommunications solutions for customers by identifying business drivers, challenges, and objectives, and aligning them with technology solutions through proposals and recommendations.
Develop, maintain, and execute account plans for assigned customers, including growth strategies, retention initiatives, customer engagement activities, and opportunity management.
Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers through regular contact, account reviews, and ongoing consultation to ensure customer satisfaction, identify emerging needs, and support long-term customer retention and growth.
Coordinate and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Sales Assistants, Business Care Centre, Operations, and Project Management teams, to ensure the successful delivery of products, services, and customer initiatives.
Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within existing and prospective accounts through proactive prospecting, solution selling, and customer relationship development.
Qualify accounts for consideration as High Value Customers and Account Executive treatment.

Knowledge and Skills Required

This position requires a business degree with a major in marketing/sales or technology (or an equivalent combination of experience and/or credentials)
One year of Business Telecommunications sales and strong customer service skills.
Strong sales, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), presentation and analytical skills.
Occasional weekend and evening work is required of this position. The position may also be required to travel four times per year for up to one week at a time, or up to one week per month dependent on location of position.
As part of the recruitment process for this position, candidates may be required to take pre-employment tests and/or complete work simulation exercise to assess job fit.
