The Role
The Senior Software Engineer will act as a technical lead for our technologies in any project or initiative, and is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade cloud solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric. This role focuses on building scalable, event-driven architectures, developing cloud-native applications, and enabling enterprise data integration through Azure Functions, and Microsoft Fabric platforms.
The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader within the Integrations & Development team, collaborating closely with DevOps Engineers, Business Applications, Data Architect, Enterprise Architect, and Security Analysts teams to deliver reliable, secure, and highly available solutions that support the organization's digital transformation strategy.
You will be focusing on:
- Delivers and supports business solutions, through development and integration of new and existing systems.
- Acts as a technical resource for all technological matters, whether support or change related, within their assigned technologies
- Design and develop enterprise-scale cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
- Lead technical design reviews and establish solution architecture standards.
- Design scalable serverless solutions utilizing Azure Functions.
- Participate in cloud architecture governance and technology roadmaps.
- Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, reliability, and performance standards.
Microsoft Fabric Development
- Design and develop end-to-end data solutions within Microsoft Fabric.
- Build and maintain Fabric Data Factory pipelines.
- Develop and optimize Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Real-Time Analytics solutions.
- Integrate enterprise applications and operational systems into Fabric environments.
- Support data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and analytics workloads.
- Collaborate with other IT areas to enable enterprise reporting and AI initiatives.
- Optimize Fabric solutions for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Azure Functions Development
- Build serverless applications using Azure Functions.
- Develop event-driven processing for business transactions and integrations.
- Implement secure API integrations and backend services.
- Optimize function performance, resiliency, and operational monitoring.
Software Development
- Develop high-quality applications and APIs using: C#, .NET Core/.NET, REST APIs, JSON, Entity Framework
- Apply software engineering best practices and coding standards.
- Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Ensure solutions are maintainable, testable, and scalable.
- Database development and administration – manage SQL Agent jobs, SSIS packages, Stored Procedures, Views; planning large scale migrations
DevOps & Automation
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate deployment and configuration management processes.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
- Implement automated testing and deployment strategies.
- Collaborate with Platform Engineering and Operations teams.
Security & Compliance
- Implement security best practices across all solutions.
- Integrate Microsoft Entra ID authentication and authorization.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies.
- Participate in security assessments and vulnerability remediation activities.
- Support audit and regulatory requirements.
Operational Support
- Support production systems and provide Level 3 application support.
- Troubleshoot performance, integration, and operational issues.
- Monitor application health using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
- Participate in on-call support rotations when required.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
What you bring to the role
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years developing cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
- 3+ years of experience developing Azure Functions.
- 2+ years of experience working with Microsoft Fabric or enterprise-scale data platforms.
- Experience delivering enterprise integration solutions within large organizations.

The salary bands provided reflect the typical range for this role in the region indicated. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of experiences and skills, and final compensation will be thoughtfully determined based on individual qualifications and current market factors. Please note that salary will be discussed and negotiated during interview.

Toronto: $81,500 - $100,700
