Your leadership can help shape our future, strengthen the services we provide, and ensure we continue to meet the evolving needs of our community.
We invite you to take the next step and apply to join our Board of Directors. Help us build a stronger, more inclusive community where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and independence.
We are seeking a volunteer Board Member who holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, with 3–5 years of prior experience serving on a not-for-profit governing Board.
The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen, strategic insight, and governance expertise, with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Financial Oversight and Reporting: Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, financial statement analysis, and ensuring fiscal accountability and transparency.
- Audit and Risk Management: Experience overseeing financial audits, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and organizational risk management.
- Strategic Financial Planning: Ability to provide guidance on long-term financial sustainability, resource allocation, investment strategies, and organizational growth.
- Experience within the not-for-profit, healthcare, or community services sectors is considered a strong asset.
This volunteer opportunity plays an instrumental role in guiding the future of an organization recognized as a leader among community-based health organizations in Ontario. Nucleus provides leadership for two regional programs, both unique in Ontario – Central Registry, and the Regional Learning Centre, where we support the coordinated access, intake, and eligibility for a network of local health providers across a variety of programs, including the Caregiver Respite Strategy, Food Security, and Hospital Transition programs.
Our organization is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), most recently in 2022, and renewing in 2025. Our service delivery models have been recognized locally, provincially, and federally. We have two Minister’s Medals, two 3M National Awards and regional awards for quality.
