Job Summary
A summer opportunity awaits a motivated student at our Fort Saskatchewan facilities beginning May 2026 for an approximate 4-month term. This is a temporary, full-time, hourly-paid position open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete. This position is not available for remote work.

What You'll Do
- Laboratory bench work
- General laboratory tasks (instrument maintenance and calibrations, chemical inventory, housekeeping)
- Physical and chemical testing of nitrogen fertilizers
- Groundwater sampling and testing, grass sampling, and various environmental tasks and testing
- Enrolled in a Science program (Chemical Technology or Chemistry) or equivalent degree/technical program
- Competence in standard Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Previous related work experience at Nutrien or in another industrial setting, an asset
- Confirmation of registration in a post-secondary institution in a degree or diploma program in Fall 2025
- Must be self-motivated along with the ability to pay close attention to detail and have a strong ability to work individually as well as in a team setting

Responsibilities
Perform laboratory bench work and general laboratory tasks, including instrument maintenance and calibration, chemical inventory management, and housekeeping. Conduct physical and chemical testing of nitrogen fertilizers, groundwater sampling and testing, grass sampling, and other environmental tasks.
Requirements
Applicants must be enrolled in a science program, such as Chemical Technology or Chemistry, or an equivalent degree or technical program, and must confirm registration at a post-secondary institution for Fall 2025. They should be proficient with Microsoft Office, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team; related industrial experience is an asset.
