Applicants must be third or fourth-year students of accredited domestic or international veterinary schools, pursuing a DVM, VMD, or foreign equivalent.
Maritime Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Centre is a new, state-of the-art, 24,000 sq. ft. veterinary emergency and specialty facility dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive and advanced medical care.
Located in beautiful Dartmouth, NS, the “City of Lakes”, we are proud to offer externship and internship programs that foster education and collaboration, values which are at the core of our hospital culture.
We Offer An Externship Program For Successful 4th Year Clinical Veterinary Students Of AVMA Accredited Schools To Further Their Training. Participating Students Observe Cases From Diagnosis Through Treatment, Supported By Professionals Across Multiple Disciplines

Responsibilities
Observe veterinary cases from diagnosis through treatment while receiving support from professionals across multiple disciplines. Participate in an externship lasting one to four weeks, with no more than two weeks assigned to any one service.
Requirements
Applicants must be third- or fourth-year students at an accredited domestic or international veterinary school pursuing a DVM, VMD, or foreign equivalent. The externship program is described for successful fourth-year clinical veterinary students from AVMA-accredited schools.
