Original job description

When a tablet coater goes down at a pharmaceutical plant, batches are at risk. You’re the person customers call, and the person who gets them running again.

O’Hara Technologies designs and manufactures patented solid-dosage processing equipment, including continuous and batch tablet coaters, tray drying ovens, and lab-scale fluid beds. Our customers in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and confectionery manufacturing run this equipment in regulated environments where downtime and errors are expensive. We’ve been building it since 1975, and our field service team is how customers experience O’Hara after the sale.

What you’ll do

  • Install, commission, and test O’Hara equipment at customer facilities
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on site, getting customers back in production quickly
  • Perform preventive maintenance, adjustments, and minor repairs
  • Train customer operators and maintenance staff on safe operation and routine upkeep
  • Document every service activity clearly, in line with GMP and customer quality requirements
  • Feed what you learn in the field back to our engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
  • Follow all site safety procedures and regulatory requirements

What you bring

  • Hands-on experience working on tablet coating systems or other pharmaceutical processing equipment (coaters, fluid beds, dryers, blenders, or similar)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills on industrial equipment
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and operating manuals
  • Technical diploma or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology (or equivalent experience)
  • Working knowledge of GMP/cGMP documentation practices
  • Clear, calm communication with customer teams, especially when a line is down
  • Ability to work independently and adapt when service priorities change
  • Proficiency with basic computer tools for reporting and documentation
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required

Assets

  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, pneumatics, or spray systems
  • Experience with FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ, or equipment validation support

Why O’Hara

  • Work on specialized, patented equipment that customers depend on
  • Direct access to the engineers who designed and built it
  • Real ownership of the customer relationship
  • In-house FAT capability at our 65,000 sq ft facility, so you learn the equipment inside out before you see it on a customer floor

Our hiring process

  1. Apply: Submit your application on LinkedIn. You’ll hear from us within [5 business days].
  2. Screening call (30 min): A quick call with [HR / hiring coordinator] to cover your background, travel availability, and expectations.
  3. Interview with the hiring manager (60 min): A technical conversation about your equipment experience and how you troubleshoot, plus a look at our facility.
  4. Decision: You’ll hear from us within [one week] of your final interview.
