THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an opportunity for an Investment Assistant to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver office.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
In this role, you will join the Burrard Investment Management Group, a collaborative advisory team led by two Senior Wealth Managers. The team includes a Financial Planner, Portfolio Analyst, Senior Wealth Associate, and an Investment Associate, providing dedicated support for discretionary portfolio management services to clients with complex wealth management needs.

The successful candidate is client-focused and detail-oriented. You take ownership of your responsibilities, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute to a team culture that values client service and teamwork.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Portfolio and Administrative Support

Process transactions such as wires, EFTs, contributions, withdrawals, and transfers in a timely manner
Facilitate account opening and onboarding
Document transactions and client communications and ensure regulatory compliance
Maintain accurate records while protecting client confidentiality and privacy

Client Support and Relationship Management

Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager and client service teams to deliver a seamless client experience and contribute to internal improvements
Respond to client calls and emails in a professional and timely manner, including inquiries related to account activity, documentation, and follow-up items
Coordinate the Portfolio Manager’s calendar and client meetings, including scheduling, confirmations, preparation of materials, and follow-up
Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with KYC/AML regulations
Assist with new client onboarding
Ensure client files and documentation are up to date and accurate in Salesforce
Support clients through the wealth management process by gathering relevant information, documents, and questionnaires, and ensuring outstanding tasks are completed

Customer Service – Determine needs, capture relevant information, apply internal policies or regulations, and escalate and prioritize customer requests to answer inquiries, fulfill transactions, or resolve issues
Digital Literacy – Use technology, tools, and online resources to find, create, and communicate information or apply new digital tools or systems to our work while staying safe and responsible in digital environments
Product Knowledge – Maintain and deepen knowledge of company products, services and/or applications to align features, benefits, and uses to client or stakeholder needs
Regulatory Knowledge – Understand and apply relevant laws, regulations, and standards to meet legal and ethical requirements and reduce risk for clients and the organization

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years of client-facing experience within the investment industry
Registration with CIRO as an Investment Representative in good standing, with a willingness to pursue Registered Representative registration
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 with expertise in Excel
Intermediate knowledge of Salesforce
Exceptional verbal communication skills
Strong writing skills with the ability to create clear, engaging, and professional content
Professional, tactful, and confident when interacting with clients
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently and accurately
Collaborative team member with a proven record of building trust and productive relationships
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Disciplined, motivated, and operates with a high level of accountability

WHAT WE OFFER
