Post-Majority Care Supervisor

Temporary Maternity Leave Backfill

OEFS is seeking a qualified individual to fill the temporary position of Acting Post-Majority Care Supervisor for a maternity leave backfill.

The Acting Post-Majority Care Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of support services to young adults transitioning from the foster care system. The position provides leadership and supervision to Post-Majority Care staff, supports effective program delivery, monitors service quality and outcomes, and works collaboratively with internal and external partners to promote the well-being and success of young adults receiving Post-Majority Care services.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support to Post-Majority Care Social Workers and Case Managers.
Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, performance support, and professional development.
Support the development and implementation of program initiatives designed to enhance services for young adults transitioning from care.
Ensure services are delivered in accordance with applicable policies, regulations, professional standards, and best practices.
Review client files, documentation, case planning, and program activities to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Identify areas requiring improvement and provide direction and support to staff where necessary.
Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, community organizations, educational institutions, employers, service providers, and other community partners.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve access to services and resources for young adults.
Oversee program data collection, service utilization, client outcomes, and reporting requirements.
Prepare reports, presentations, and other program-related documentation as required.
Support staff in responding to complex cases, urgent situations, and client needs.
Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to urgent or emergency matters outside regular working hours as required.
Perform other related supervisory duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Social Work required.
Master of Social Work (MSW) preferred.
Must be registered and in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW).
Minimum of five years of experience in social services, child welfare, or a related field.
Minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
Strong knowledge of policies, legislation, and best practices related to foster care, independent living, youth services, and Post-Majority Care.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, support program development, and oversee service delivery.
Experience with documentation, data management, program evaluation, and reporting.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, management, community partners, and external agencies.
Commitment to culturally responsive, inclusive, and respectful service delivery.

This position operates primarily in an office environment but may require travel within the community to attend meetings, visit program sites, or engage with stakeholders. Participation in the on-call rotation is mandatory.
