For our clients, that means accountability and reassurance that work is done to their exact standards.
Our team is looking to add an experienced installation technician to take a leading role on our projects across Southern Vancouver Island. You will work on everything from structured wiring and equipment racks to audio/video, networks, lighting control, motorized shades, security, and home automation.
The role:
Working with our Production Manager, you will lead installation work on site, organize daily tasks, and help junior technicians develop their skills. You will stay hands-on throughout the project, from rough-in through installation, programming, testing, and client handover.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, thinks ahead, and communicates clearly when something needs attention.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and carry out installations through rough-in, trim-out, equipment installation, and system completion.
- Read and interpret project scopes, construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts.
- Install, terminate, label, and test structured cabling and low-voltage wiring.
- Build and wire clean, organized equipment racks that are easy to service.
- Install speakers, displays, cameras, alarm devices, access points, keypads, touchscreens, and motorized shades.
- Program and configure automation and lighting control systems.
- Configure and troubleshoot networks and audio/video equipment
- Coordinate professionally with clients, builders, and other trades.
- Guide junior installers and check that work meets our installation standards.
What you bring:
- Approximately five or more years of relevant experience in custom integration, home automation, or closely related installation work.
- Demonstrated programming experience with systems such as: Control4, Savant, and Lutron, including the ability to independently configure, troubleshoot, and commission systems in at least one of these platforms.
- Experience working independently in high-end residential construction and finished homes.
- Strong installation skills, including cable termination, rack wiring, equipment mounting, and systematic troubleshooting.
- A working understanding of IP networking, including switches, Wi-Fi, addressing, and connected devices.
- The ability to organize work, follow a project scope, and see tasks through to completion.
- Clear communication, sound judgment, and a professional approach with clients and other trades.
- A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel to job sites across Southern Vancouver Island.
- The ability to perform installation work involving ladders, equipment handling, crawlspaces, and attics.
What we offer:
- $40-50 hourly based on experience and qualifications.
- $4000 Signing Bonus after 90 days.
- Benefit package
- Company vehicle, phone and tools.
- Opportunities for manufacturer training and professional development.
- A team that values craftsmanship, creative problem-solving, and enjoying the work we do.
