Events & Digital Marketing Specialist

Permanent Full-Time, Hybrid

Reporting to the Manager, Events, the Event & Digital Marketing Specialist is an experienced marketer who contributes to deliver marketing campaigns to support conferences, sponsorship, webinars and other internal and external events. The role also executes digital marketing tactics outlined in the annual marketing plans for all OntarioMD products and services, as well as the tactics for campaigns focused on increasing awareness of OntarioMD’s brand (e.g., monthly newsletter). The role develops and executes targeted social media campaigns that build awareness, drive registration and support sponsor and exhibitor commitments. The position prepares and executes email blasts for events leveraging CRM Marketing through Microsoft Dynamics 365, makes web updates, creates social media posts and provides analytics for each tactic and campaign. The role works closely with all members of the Marketing team and acts as a digital marketing advisor to other OMD departments, providing digital marketing expertise for event, product/service, and brand awareness.

Reporting to the Manager, Events:

The Event & Digital Marketing Specialist will work with the Manager, Events and Director, Marketing & Communications on prioritizing the execution of tactics for event, product/service and brand awareness campaigns based on project/program deadlines and the CRM email blast schedule.

Event Marketing and Sponsorship Activities:

Manage marketing and sponsorship plans for OMD conferences, webinars, and other events, working with the Manager, Events and other internal departments.
Creates schedules, segments, key messages and promotional content across email, web, social media, paid digital and partner channels.
Researches, writes, and edits content for event email blasts.
Executes all event email communications using MS Dynamics CRM or other email software.
Coordinates event email lists, CRM clinician data, and facilitates subscriber requests with the CRM team based on CASL and OMD policies.
Provides marketing insights into event landing pages, registration forms, and other event resources
Oversee mobile event apps.
Analyzes registration data, campaigns and engagement results and provides recommendations to improve reach and attendance.
Supports the marketing tactics to potential sponsors and stakeholders including the sponsorship prospectus, web content, email, social media and advertising material.
Communicate with sponsors and partners about events.
Supports sponsors and exhibitors that are participating in OMD events.
Maintains accurate sponsorships and exhibitor lists, content and works with the Manager, Events on recruiting previous and new sponsors.
Assists occasionally to create innovative online collateral to market external OMD events to increase attendance using all available online channels.
Collaborate with the CRM team to provide digital marketing insights when executing event campaigns (i.e., UTM Codes, A/B testing, QR codes, etc.).
Assists in event promotion, event day management and execution for internal events and external events, as required.
Manages data / lists specific to events and stakeholders to distribute information to internal stakeholders.
Familiarity with web intake forms and payment integration.

Brand Awareness and Product Marketing Activities:

Develops or contributes to digital marketing campaigns that increase overall brand awareness and leads generation initiatives, as well as product/service adoption and updates.
Executes the campaigns using various digital platforms such as SharePoint, OMD website, YouTube, Vimeo, and social media.
Research, write, and edit content for website/microsites, social media, blog posts, etc., as required.
Acts as a backup for the Digital Content Manager to maintain corporate and OMD product and service digital content.
Acts as a backup for the Marketing Lead to prepare and execute CRM or MailChimp email blasts about OntarioMD and its products and services.
Develops the front-end web applications and web forms.
Designs digital intake forms integrated with CRM.
Updates social media pages for all products and services.
Assists the Marketing Lead with the creation of digital ad campaigns.
Provides digital marketing advice to internal client groups.
Analyzes trends in social media and develops these insights into achievable plans as needed.
Contributes social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube and Vimeo) statistics for OMD’s annual Impact Report and for quarterly marketing metrics reports.
Assists with updates to the internal SharePoint homepage as well as the Marketing & Communication team’s pages.
Develop productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their digital communications needs.
Contributes event statistics for OMD’s Annual Report as well as marketing and communication quarterly metric reports.

Other Activities:

Assists with Google Analytics reports and dashboards as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements that are important to us:

5-7 years’ experience in an event marketing, sponsorship, digital marketing or public relations role.
Post-secondary degree in a related marketing, event or communications discipline.
Detail-oriented with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple portfolios simultaneously.
Knowledge of applications like Survey Monkey, Bitly, Hootsuite, Wufoo, MailChimp and app creating platforms is essential.
Proficiency in social media is essential.
Familiarity with a wide range of marketing practices, concepts, and procedures.
Strong skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent research, writing, editing and oral communications/presentation skills.
Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to prioritize.
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse team of professionals.
Some knowledge of content management systems (HTML, CSS, Java Script, Bootstrap, SharePoint, WordPress) is an asset.
Knowledge of CRM Marketing with a focus in Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset.
Knowledge of AODA and CASL is an asset.
A background in digital graphic design is an asset (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
Basic understanding of the Ontario healthcare sector is an asset.
Knowledge of working in the public sector or broader public sector is an asset.
