A Day in the Life
As an Environmental Technician in Oakville/GTA you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.
The compensation range for this role is $24.00 to $32.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.
To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:
- Follow Onterris’ health and safety procedures and policies.
- Support environmental field programs including groundwater sampling, soil sampling, drilling investigations, and remediation projects to support environmental compliance at industrial, commercial, and institutional sites.
- Coordinate field activities, equipment, subcontractors, and project logistics to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Contribute to technical reports, field documentation, and project records to inform environmental decisions.
Your Expertise and Skills

- Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Technology, or a related discipline.
- 1 – 3 years of related experience.
- Experience with soil and groundwater sampling is considered a benefit.
- Ability to travel around the Greater Toronto Area and beyond, as required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate field notes and project documentation.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a matrix reporting structure.
- A valid G driver’s license with no restrictions.

- Sitting, standing, and walking
- Lifting 50 pounds several times a day
- Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds
- Often works outdoors and may be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions
