Original job description

Who we are

The ONxpress Civils Contractor General Partnership, a partnership between FCC Canada Limited and Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc., is a multidisciplinary Civils Joint Venture (CJV) team with global expertise in delivering innovative solutions for both railway and civil construction projects. Working under Alliance agreement with Metrolinx, the team is helping to modernize railway construction across the GO Transit network.

An Alliance framework, which is relatively new in Canada, is a collaborative partnership between the owner and contractor, who work together with a best-for-project mindset. By streamlining decision making, the Alliance helps ensure that high-quality work is delivered, certified, and transferred in a progressive, transparent, and risk-managed manner.

The Alliance operates with a core focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability, while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and rights-holders and contributing positively to local communities as a good neighbour. Through this collaborative approach, the Alliance is helping drive the modernization of key sections of the rail network as part of the GO Expansion Program.

If you're passionate about making a difference and want to be part of a progressive and modern way of working, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

The Construction Technical Office (CTO) is a newly established team within CJV, created to bridge the gap between design and construction across our active rail construction sites. The Construction Coordinator supports the CTO by coordinating engineering services during construction on tracks and signalling scope acting as the day-to-day technical interface between the construction team and design consultants.

Coordinate the review and tracking of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Site Instructions (SIs), and shop drawings between the site and design consultants.
Monitor the status of outstanding submissions, escalate overdue items, and maintain trackers to keep the CTO team and site team informed.
Ensure the construction team has access to the current approved revision of all design documents, and that superseded drawings are promptly removed from circulation.
Prepare work area packages, to allow construction team access to documentation relevant to upcoming works in identified local areas
Ability to read and interpret multi-disciplinary drawings and specifications, identify coordination gaps, and communicate issues clearly to the relevant designers or site supervisors.
Proactively identify, monitor, and escalate risks and issues that may impact construction progress or quality at station sites.
Support the management of design changes, including tracking impacts to scope, cost, schedule, and risk.
Prepare and maintain dashboards, logs, and visual trackers to monitor outstanding RFIs, ITPs, SIs, and other technical submissions.

Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced site environment.
Familiarity with document management platforms (e.g., , ACC, Aconex) is an asset.
