Role Description The Security Guard role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. In this role, the Security Guard will monitor premises, conduct regular patrols, and maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access. Daily tasks include controlling access points, verifying identification, responding to alarms and incidents, completing incident and shift reports, and liaising with clients, visitors, and local authorities when necessary. The Security Guard will also support loss prevention activities, follow company and site-specific procedures, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role requires consistent professionalism, situational awareness, and the ability to remain calm and effective in both routine and emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to interact professionally with clients, visitors, and team members.
• Experience or training in Physical Security and Private Security practices, including patrolling, access control, and incident response.
• Understanding of Personnel Security principles, such as identity verification and safeguarding confidential information.
• Valid provincial security guard license (or eligibility to obtain one) and knowledge of relevant security regulations and legislation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, respond quickly in emergencies, and work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and report writing capabilities for clear and accurate incident documentation.
• Reliable transportation to sites within the Greater Toronto Area and flexibility to work at different client locations.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is an asset; additional training or certifications in first aid/CPR are beneficial.
