Original job description

OPENTEXT - THE INFORMATION COMPANY

OpenText is a global leader in information management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are the key components of our corporate culture. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to partner with the most highly regarded companies in the world, tackle complex issues, and contribute to projects that shape the future of digital transformation.

AI-First. Future-Driven. Human-Centered.

At OpenText, AI is at the heart of everything we do - powering innovation, transforming work, and empowering digital knowledge workers. We are hiring talent AI can't replace to help us shape the future of information management. Join us.

Your Impact

As a Software Developer specializing in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), UiPath, and emerging agentic AI technologies, you will design, develop, deploy, and support intelligent automation solutions across the Order-to-Cash organization. This is a hands-on development role focused on solving complex operational challenges through technology while partnering with business analysts, process owners, technical teams, and fellow developers to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise automation solutions using UiPath Studio, UiPath Orchestrator, and related UiPath technologies.
Develop reliable unattended automations supporting high-volume and business-critical O2C processes.
Contribute to the development and adoption of agentic AI and intelligent automation solutions within Order-to-Cash.
Design workflows that combine RPA, AI, business rules, enterprise data, and human decision points where appropriate.
Evaluate business processes to determine the appropriate use of traditional RPA, AI-enabled automation, agentic workflows, or a combination of technologies.
Explore opportunities for AI agents to support information gathering, classification, summarization, exception handling, case management, and decision support.
Build automation solutions supporting Billing, Fulfillment, Client Enablement, the Billing Help Desk, and other Order-to-Cash operations.
Automate processes across enterprise applications including SAP, Siebel, Salesforce, web applications, Microsoft Excel, databases, and other business systems.
Design transactional automations using UiPath capabilities such as queues, assets, triggers, reusable workflows, retry mechanisms, exception handling, and logging.
Integrate automation solutions with SQL databases, APIs, files, email systems, enterprise applications, and AI services.
Work closely with business analysts and O2C process owners to understand operational requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, simplify workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance the client experience.
Participate in solution design and technical reviews to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with development standards.
Develop and maintain UiPath Orchestrator components including queues, assets, triggers, processes, folders, and unattended automation configurations.
Implement comprehensive business and system exception handling to ensure reliable transaction processing and recovery.
Troubleshoot production automation issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
Monitor automation performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, execution time, transaction throughput, and operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, support procedures, and deployment documentation.
Participate in code reviews, testing, release management, and production deployment activities.
Develop reusable automation components and contribute to RPA and intelligent automation development standards and best practices.
Ensure automation and AI solutions comply with OpenText requirements for security, privacy, access management, auditability, change management, and responsible AI use.

What the Role Offers

This role provides the opportunity to work at the intersection of enterprise automation, AI, and business transformation within OpenText's Order-to-Cash organization.

You will have the opportunity to:

Work with leading technologies including UiPath, AI-enabled automation, agentic AI, SAP, Siebel, Salesforce, SQL Server, APIs, and enterprise business systems.
Help shape the future of automation within O2C by combining traditional RPA with emerging AI capabilities.
Build solutions that support critical business functions across Billing, Fulfillment, Client Enablement, and the Billing Help Desk.
Collaborate closely with technical teams, business analysts, and operational leaders across the organization.
Influence how automation and AI are applied to improve operational efficiency, decision support, accuracy, and client experience.
Contribute to the development of increasingly intelligent and connected solutions capable of supporting end-to-end business processes while maintaining appropriate controls and human oversight.

Automation within O2C is evolving beyond traditional task automation. While RPA continues to provide a reliable foundation for high-volume, rules-based processes, agentic AI introduces opportunities to automate and support more complex work involving unstructured information, reasoning, exceptions, and interactions across multiple systems.

What You Need to Succeed

Required Qualifications

Hands-on experience developing production automation solutions using UiPath.
Strong experience with UiPath Studio and UiPath Orchestrator.
Experience developing unattended RPA solutions within enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of UiPath development concepts including queues, assets, triggers, reusable workflows, exception handling, retry logic, logging, monitoring, and transactional automation frameworks.
Experience automating enterprise applications such as SAP GUI, Siebel, Salesforce, or similar ERP and CRM platforms.
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including the ability to query and manipulate data used by automation solutions.
Experience working with APIs, web services, JSON, Excel, CSV, and other structured data formats.
Understanding of generative AI, large language models, AI agents, or agentic automation concepts, with an interest in applying these technologies to enterprise business processes.
Ability to understand where AI-based approaches provide value and where deterministic automation and business rules remain more appropriate.
Strong troubleshooting skills, including experience resolving issues involving selectors, application timing, system availability, sessions, credentials, and application exceptions.
Understanding of software development lifecycle practices including requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, source control, and production support.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex operational processes and translate them into technical solutions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

UiPath certification or equivalent practical UiPath development experience.
Experience with UiPath's AI and agentic automation capabilities or comparable enterprise AI and automation technologies.
Experience developing or integrating solutions using generative AI, large language models, AI agents, or intelligent document and communication processing.
Experience developing automation within Order-to-Cash, Billing, Fulfillment, Client Enablement, Finance Operations, or other high-volume transactional environments.
Experience supporting client service or help desk processes, including case or service request management.
Experience with SAP GUI scripting and SAP-based business processes.
Experience with Siebel or similar case management and CRM platforms.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
Familiarity with Power BI, Power Automate, PowerShell, Python, VB.NET, or other automation, integration, and reporting technologies.
Experience supporting unattended automation infrastructure and production environments.
Understanding of AI governance, data privacy, human-in-the-loop controls, security, and responsible use of AI in enterprise environments.
Experience working within Agile or other structured software development methodologies.

One Last Thing

Order-to-Cash is a critical part of the OpenText client experience, connecting activities across order management, fulfillment, billing, invoicing, and Client Enablement. These operations involve significant transaction volumes, multiple enterprise systems, time-sensitive processing, and direct interaction with the needs of OpenText clients.

As a Software Developer – RPA / UiPath Specialist, you will help shape the next generation of automation within O2C by combining UiPath RPA, enterprise integration, and emerging agentic AI capabilities.

Your work will help reduce repetitive effort, improve processing speed and accuracy, increase operational capacity, enable more effective handling of complex and exception-based work, and allow O2C teams to focus more of their time on activities that deliver value to OpenText clients.
