Opentext - The Information Company

OpenText is a global leader in information management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are the key components of our corporate culture. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to partner with the most highly regarded companies in the world, tackle complex issues, and contribute to projects that shape the future of digital transformation.

AI-First. Future-Driven. Human-Centered.

At OpenText, AI is at the heart of everything we do - powering innovation, transforming work, and empowering digital knowledge workers. We are hiring talent AI can't replace to help us shape the future of information management. Join us.

THE IMPACT

OpenText is everywhere. Our technology quietly powers the systems the world runs on, from the supply chains that stock store shelves to the data that keeps banks, hospitals and governments running. And in the age of AI, OpenText provides the trusted data foundation that allows AI agents to act. If you want to help tell the story of a company powering the enterprise data transformation behind AI, and build its reputation with the people who matter most, this role is for you.

We are seeking a proactive communications professional with a strong read on the political environment to join as Manager, Communications & Public Affairs. Reporting to the Director, Communications & Public Affairs, the Manager will help build and protect OpenText’s reputation by advancing the company’s public affairs agenda and supporting communications for the CEO, CFO and other senior leaders. This role is for a proactive, sharp thinker who can keep multiple high-visibility workstreams moving, and partner across the business to turn strategy into high-quality execution.

What The Role Offers

Public Affairs

Support communications programs that build OpenText’s reputation and profile with government decision makers around the world, working closely with Government Relations and Worldwide Public Sector Sales to position the company as a trusted partner. Note: this role does not carry direct government relations or lobbying responsibilities.
Help plan and execute public affairs announcements and events, coordinating across internal stakeholders such as Government Relations, Worldwide Public Sector, Legal, Marketing and business leaders, and drafting communications products including news releases, speeches, and key messaging.
Support crisis and issues communications as needed, including drafting messaging and coordinating with internal stakeholders.

Executive Communications

Support internal and external communications for the CEO, CFO and other senior leaders, from organizing town halls, listening tours and market visits to drafting speeches, remarks, media briefings and executive messages.
Coordinate with the Office of the CEO on the planning and logistics of CEO communications activities and appearances, internally and externally.
Help develop and execute a thought leadership program with key internal stakeholders, positioning OpenText's executive team as authoritative voices on topics including AI, data management and data trust.
Manage the execution of executive communications, coordinating timing, sequencing and distribution of messages across internal channels.

What You Need To Succeed

4–6 years of experience in corporate, executive or public affairs communications, ideally including experience in politics or communications consulting.
Experience using AI tools to get work done faster and smarter, paired with the critical thinking to evaluate and refine what they produce.
A strong understanding of the political landscape, with an interest in domestic and global politics and the ability to assess what developments mean for OpenText’s business.
Sharp critical thinking and a proactive approach. You get to the heart of an issue quickly, anticipate needs and follow through without waiting to be asked.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once and keep them on track in a fast-moving environment with competing priorities.
Experience working cross-functionally to deliver campaigns and announcements in a complex, matrixed organization, and the ability to build trust with senior leaders and their teams.
Strong writing skills, with experience supporting executive content such as speeches, remarks and internal messages.

ONE LAST THING

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work directly on executive communications, help shape OpenText's voice on the issues that matter most to the business, and do meaningful, high-impact work during a pivotal moment in the company's evolution.

OpenText's commitment to diversity and inclusion surpasses legal requirements, evident in our Equal Employment Opportunity Statement of Policy which promotes a respectful and empowering environment for employees of all backgrounds, culture, national origin, race, color, gender, gender identification, sexual orientation, family status, age, veteran status, disability, religion, or other basis protected by applicable laws.

If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please contact us at hr@opentext.com. Our proactive approach fosters collaboration, innovation, and personal growth, enriching OpenText's vibrant workplace.

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. A summary of those benefits can be found on our Why Join Us page. As you move through the hiring process, we’re happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $86,800 - $130,200; Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
