Original job description

Opentext - The Information Company

OpenText is a global leader in information management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are the key components of our corporate culture. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to partner with the most highly regarded companies in the world, tackle complex issues, and contribute to projects that shape the future of digital transformation.

AI-First. Future-Driven. Human-Centered.

At OpenText, AI is at the heart of everything we do - powering innovation, transforming work, and empowering digital knowledge workers. We are hiring talent AI can't replace to help us shape the future of information management. Join us.

Senior Director, AI Product Strategy - On-Site - Full Time, Permanent Role.

Location: OpenText Headquarters – Waterloo, Ontario

The Opportunity

OpenText manages information for the largest organizations worldwide - and we're now rebuilding that foundation around AI. As enterprises embrace a new era of intelligent automation and generative AI, we are building the next generation of content, data, and AI-driven solutions that empower organizations to unlock knowledge, drive efficiency, ship AI that enterprises actually trust.

Your Impact

We are seeking a Senior Director, AI Strategist and Product Management to lead our initiatives for Generative AI and Agentic AI product portfolios within the Content Management Business Unit. This senior leadership role will shape OpenText’s AI product roadmap and execution, driving innovation at scale across our enterprise SaaS solutions.

The ideal candidate is a product leader and hands-on AI strategist - someone who combines deep technical expertise in AI and data science with proven experience leading global product and development teams to deliver transformative business outcomes. You will own both the 'why' and the 'what' - not just the roadmap document.

What The Role Offers

Define and execute the AI strategy for all our Content Management products.
Lead and mentor a global AI product organization, fostering innovation, accountability, and deep client empathy.
Architect and deliver production-grade agentic systems using LangChain, LangGraph, A2A (Agent-to-Agent) protocols, and other transformative AI frameworks to create adaptive, multi-agent enterprise solutions.
Partner with Development, Data Science, and Data Cloud teams to develop scalable, secure, and high-performing AI-driven products.
Shape OpenText's point of view on AI - representing the company at industry events, client forums, and analyst briefings - including Gartner, Forrester, and major client advisory boards - as a thought leader in enterprise AI.
Report into and co-own strategy with the Content BU leadership and C-level executives to align AI strategy with business goals and ensure measurable outcomes.
Ensure product roadmaps align with modern data architectures and leverage knowledge graphs and unstructured data management to enhance AI model grounding and reduce hallucinations.

What You Need To Succeed

7+ years of proven experience in data science, AI, and ML - with at least 3 years leading product organizations at enterprise scale - and hands-on exposure to building and optimizing Agentic AI systems.
Deep expertise in Agentic AI frameworks, including MCP, A2A protocols, Google ADK, LangChain, and LangGraph (critical).
Demonstrated success leading Product Management organizations in enterprise software or cloud platforms.
Strong background in AI/ML, data management, and modern data architectures (Lakehouse, Data Fabric, knowledge graphs).
Experience with unstructured data management, grounding AI models, and context engineering to reduce hallucinations in generative AI systems.
Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale SaaS solutions through collaboration with global, cross-functional teams.
Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive presence - with the ability to influence strategy and engage C-level stakeholders.
Track record of shipping: you can point to specific AI products you've taken from concept to production, with measurable outcomes.

One Last Thing

OpenText is more than just a corporation, it's a global community where trust is foundational, the bar is raised, and outcomes are owned.

Join us on our mission to drive positive change through privacy, technology, and collaboration. At OpenText, we don't just have a culture; we have character. Choose us because you want to be part of a company that embraces innovation and empowers its employees to make a difference.

OpenText's commitment to diversity and inclusion surpasses legal requirements, evident in our Equal Employment Opportunity Statement of Policy which promotes a respectful and empowering environment for employees of all backgrounds, culture, national origin, race, color, gender, gender identification, sexual orientation, family status, age, veteran status, disability, religion, or other basis protected by applicable laws.

If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please submit a ticket at Ask HR. Our proactive approach fosters collaboration, innovation, and personal growth, enriching OpenText's vibrant workplace.

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we’re happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

AI Usage Disclosure: As part of our commitment to transparency, we use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist in various stages of our recruitment process, including resume screening, candidate matching, interview scheduling, and communications. These tools are designed to improve efficiency, reduce bias, and enhance candidate experience. All decisions regarding hiring are made by qualified human professionals, and we continuously monitor our AI systems to ensure fairness and compliance with applicable regulations.
