Your Impact

As a Senior Software Developer – Automation, you will design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions that improve software quality and accelerate delivery across OpenText’s enterprise applications. With a primary focus on Java, Selenium WebDriver, and Maven, you will build reusable automation frameworks and comprehensive test suites that support reliable, scalable testing across applications and services.

We are looking for a hands-on developer with strong Java programming skills and experience delivering maintainable UI and API test automation. You will collaborate with development, quality engineering, and product teams to identify testing requirements, strengthen automated coverage, and integrate testing into the software delivery lifecycle.

What The Role Offers

As a Senior Software Developer, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based test automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Maven, and TestNG or JUnit.
• Build reusable page objects, utilities, test data components, and assertions using Page Object Model (POM) and established design patterns.
• Develop automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end tests for web applications.
• Implement API automation using REST Assured or similar Java-based tools to validate services and business workflows.
• Configure Maven dependencies, build lifecycles, profiles, and plugins to support consistent test execution across environments.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions, including cross-browser and parallel execution with Selenium Grid or cloud-based platforms.
• Improve test stability and diagnostics by addressing flaky tests, synchronization issues, dynamic elements, and test data dependencies, using Allure Report or ExtentReports, logs, and screenshots.
• Collaborate with development, quality, and product teams on automation coverage and defects; conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and own automation components through design, implementation, maintenance, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  
  

What You Need To Succeed

• 6+ years of software development or test automation experience, with strong Java-based automation expertise for enterprise applications.
• Strong Java programming skills, including object-oriented design, collections, exception handling, and reusable software components.
• Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver, including locator strategies, explicit waits, dynamic elements, frames, windows, and browser interactions.
• Hands-on experience with Maven, TestNG or JUnit, including dependency management, build configuration, parameterization, assertions, test lifecycles, and parallel execution.
• Proven experience designing automation frameworks using Page Object Model, data-driven testing, and modular design principles.
• Experience with REST Assured, SQL, relational databases, and JSON processing for API testing, test data preparation, and backend validation.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Selenium Grid, BrowserStack, or Sauce Labs, including collaborative development and automated test integration.
• Strong knowledge of test design, defect management, Agile and the software development lifecycle; familiarity with Cucumber, BDD, Docker, or JMeter is an asset, along with strong troubleshooting, communication, mentoring, and ownership skills.

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we’re happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $98,080.00 - $147,120.00; Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
