Original job description

Opentext - The Information Company

OpenText is a global leader in information management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are the key components of our corporate culture. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to partner with the most highly regarded companies in the world, tackle complex issues, and contribute to projects that shape the future of digital transformation.

AI-First. Future-Driven. Human-Centered.

At OpenText, AI is at the heart of everything we do - powering innovation, transforming work, and empowering digital knowledge workers. We are hiring talent AI can't replace to help us shape the future of information management. Join us.

Your Impact

As a function within the Go-to-Market Strategy organization, Technical Marketing plays a critical role in translating OpenText’s product portfolio into compelling, real-world solution stories that enable effective market engagement.

OpenText solutions deliver measurable impact across critical business processes and enterprise strategies. Because these solutions are often complex and broad in scope, customers need more than feature descriptions. They need to clearly see how OpenText technology applies to their real-world challenges and business priorities.

The Technical Marketing team’s mission is to bring OpenText solutions to life through story-driven demonstrations, hands-on assets, and enablement content. By grounding solution narratives in customer pain points, industry scenarios, and measurable outcomes, the team makes solutions relevant, tangible, and easy to understand, bridging the gap between product capabilities and customer needs.

We are looking for a Technical Marketing Manager who is passionate about hands-on technology and skilled at storytelling. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating content, exploring new capabilities, using AI-powered tools, and building demo assets that show how technology supports real business outcomes. The role collaborates closely with Technical Marketing team members and subject-matter experts while remaining focused on demo asset creation and delivery rather than product positioning, market strategy, competitive analysis, or go-to-market planning.

What The Role Offers

Design and Deliver Compelling Demonstrations

Build story-driven demos based on real-world customer scenarios and use cases.
Create and deliver demo assets through live demo instances, guided tours, videos, and supporting documentation.
Build and update demo content using approved OpenText product environments and tools.
Prepare supporting materials for self-guided experiences, events, workshops, and field enablement.

Communicate Business Value Through Storytelling

Turn product capabilities into simple customer scenarios with a clear beginning, challenge, solution, and outcome.
Ensure demonstrations clearly convey business relevance, outcomes, and value, not just features.
Write narratives that focus on the user, the business problem, and the value delivered.
Adapt stories and examples for clients, partners, sales teams, industries, personas, and audience needs with guidance from subject-matter experts.

Contribute to Portfolio-Level Solution Stories

Support the development of cohesive, outcome-driven demos that can span multiple OpenText solutions.
Show interoperability, data flow, and end-to-end value rather than presenting isolated product capabilities.
Work with Technical Marketing team members and subject-matter experts to ensure cross-solution stories are accurate and achievable.

Use AI to Accelerate Demo Creation

Use approved AI tools to draft and refine scripts, storyboards, personas, visuals, presentations, and other demo content.
Use AI to create first drafts and variations while validating accuracy, brand alignment, and product claims with the appropriate reviewers.
Experiment with AI-assisted content workflows and share reusable prompts, templates, and lessons learned with the team.

Develop Hands-On Enablement Assets

Create Demo Guides and Guided Tours, walkthroughs, scripts, and supporting materials that help sales teams and marketing to engage confidently with OpenText solutions.
Design assets so they are clear, reusable, and easy for others to present or follow.
Keep source files, instructions, and supporting documentation organized and current.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally and Learn

Partner with Sales, Product Management, Product Marketing, Engineering, and Solution Consultants to understand customer challenges and gather the information needed to build accurate demo assets.
Participate in reviews, incorporate feedback, and make updates as products and priorities change.
Share observations from demo development, usage, and audience feedback with the appropriate Product and Technical Marketing stakeholders.
Build working knowledge of assigned OpenText products, common customer use cases, and demo development tools.

Maintain Quality and Consistency

Follow OpenText brand, editorial, accessibility, and demo standards.
Keep demo content, scripts, source files, and supporting documentation organized and current.
Test demo assets before publication and correct content, navigation, and presentation issues.

Required

What You Need to Succeed:

Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate solution value and business impact through demonstrations and storytelling.
Ability to explain technical concepts in clear, simple, and engaging language.
Passion for hands-on technology, continuous learning, AI, digital content, and customer-focused storytelling.
Experience creating presentations, videos, prototypes, digital content, or other visual communications.
Comfort learning new software and experimenting with AI-assisted creation tools.
High standards for quality, consistency, and excellence in delivered assets, with strong attention to detail and willingness to incorporate feedback.
Ability to work collaboratively and manage assigned tasks through completion.

Preferred

Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in business, marketing, communications, design, technology, user experience, or related field.
Familiarity with generative AI tools for writing, visual creation, video, presentation design, or workflow automation.
Experience with tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software, guided-tour platforms, or web content tools.
Exposure UX design, technical communications, Technical Marketing, Presales, Solutions Engineering, demo creation, customer experience, or enterprise software.
Experience contributing to projects with cross-functional teams.
Experience in the Content Management industry is an advantage.
Familiarity with OpenText products is a significant advantage.

What Success Looks Like

Creates clear, engaging demo assets that help audiences understand how OpenText technology addresses a real business problem.
Uses AI thoughtfully to improve speed, quality, and consistency without compromising accuracy or review requirements.
Build stories that are customer-focused, outcome-led, and easy for others to present or reuse.
Responds well to feedback and continues to develop product knowledge, storytelling skills, and technical confidence.
Delivers assigned assets on time and keep them accurate, organized, and ready for use.
