Original job description
About Optimize Financial Group
Optimize Financial Group is a premier wealth management firm based out of Toronto, ON, dedicated to achieving our clients' financial goals. We offer personalized financial solutions covering financial planning, portfolio management, tax preparation, debt management, and estate planning. Our holistic approach focuses on matching clients' financial and life goals with personalized strategies for success.
About the Role
We are seeking a grounded, commercially minded Corporate Development Representative to lead our strategic advisor recruitment and practice acquisition efforts across North America. In this role, you will lead high-value, consultative discussions with established Wealth Advisors, Independent Practice Owners, and Advisory Teams considering platform partnerships, succession planning, or transitioning their firm.
Rather than running a transactional sales desk, you will manage a structured, multi-meeting acquisition framework. You will serve as a peer to top-tier financial professionals - evaluating advisor practices, navigating payout grids and equity structures, and driving deals from initial discovery through execution without relying on high-pressure sales pitches.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Strategic Outreach: Engage high-producing financial advisors, wealth management teams, and independent practice owners across target North American markets.
- Execute Consultative Acquisition Funnel: Lead candidates through our structured 4-meeting acquisition framework, conducting discovery, analyzing financial models, and presenting tailored partnership proposals.
- Address Transition & Operational Friction: Proactively address friction points surrounding client retention, administrative transfer, compliance, platform integration, and regulatory registration.
- Structure Competitive Deals: Collaborate with corporate leadership, transition teams, and legal counsel to craft compelling payout structures, succession arrangements, and growth capital packages.
- Maintain Pipeline Momentum: Drive candidate opportunities through the recruitment pipeline with structured follow-up, maintaining accurate CRM tracking and onboarding timelines.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 3–7+ years in financial services wholesaling (external or senior internal), practice management consulting, dealer/custodial business development, or commercial/corporate banking.
- Market Knowledge: Solid understanding of wealth management models across North America (including Independent Broker-Dealers, RIAs, CIRO Investment & Mutual Fund Dealers, and Bank-Owned platforms), advisor payout dynamics, and practice valuation mechanics.
- Communication Style: Down-to-earth, plain-spoken, and articulate. You build immediate trust with established business owners without using heavy corporate buzzwords or script-bound sales pitches.
- Closing Ability: Proven ability to guide sophisticated, pragmatic business owners through complex, multi-stage decisions with patience, tact, and assertive persistence.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). Relevant industry registrations or designations are a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive Base Salary + Uncapped Performance Incentives: High-earning potential tied directly to acquired assets and revenue onboarded.
- Career Path: Clear trajectory into regional corporate development leadership or executive growth roles.
