The Job!

As the Bilingual Litigation Legal Assistant, you will provide comprehensive administrative and practice support to legal professionals while helping ensure the smooth day-to-day management of their practices. You will coordinate schedules, documents, communications, files, and other administrative requirements while maintaining a high level of professionalism and client service.

Manage calendars, appointments, meetings, deadlines, and other important dates.
Coordinate internal and external meetings and communicate with relevant participants as required.
Prepare, edit, format, and proofread correspondence, reports, and other legal or administrative documents.
Manage incoming communications and ensure important requests and correspondence are directed appropriately.
Provide administrative support throughout various stages of litigation matters.
Monitor ongoing assignments and priorities to help ensure deadlines are met.
Communicate professionally with clients, internal departments, and other external contacts.
Coordinate key litigation dates, including court deadlines, hearings, meetings, and other file-related requirements.
Maintain accurate client, contact, and matter information within internal systems.
Coordinate general administrative activities and provide additional support as business needs arise.
Assist with the preparation, organization, and filing of litigation documents and materials.
Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

What you bring to the job

You are a professional and highly organized Legal Litigation Assistant who takes initiative and works well in a busy environment. You are comfortable supporting multiple individuals, managing competing priorities, and communicating with clients and colleagues in both French and English.

Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken
Post-secondary education in Legal Administration or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years of experience in a Legal Assistant, Practice Assistant, or similar legal support position
Previous experience working within a legal or professional services environment
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Previous experience supporting litigation matters within a legal environment.
Familiarity with billing, file administration, and general matter management processes
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Familiarity with court filing procedures, litigation deadlines, and related administrative processes.
Excellent attention to detail and proofreading abilities
Ability to manage multiple assignments and changing priorities
Professional and client-service-oriented approach
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
Strong initiative, judgment, and commitment to producing high-quality work
