Original job description

Who We Are

Having surpassed $300M ARR and continuing to grow, Optro helps enterprises transform risk into opportunity through its AI-powered GRC Intelligence Platform. More than 50% of the Fortune 500, including 7 of the Fortune 10, leverage our award-winning technology to move their businesses forward with greater clarity and agility. And our customers love us: Optro is top-rated on G2.com and Gartner Peer Insights.

At Optro, we inspire each other to innovate and are proud of what we are producing. We spend each day thinking of new ways to help our customers and contribute to the greater good of our company and our surrounding communities. We are all about assisting each other and breaking through barriers to create the most loved audit, risk, ESG, and InfoSec platform by our customers. This is how we have become one of the 500 fastest-growing tech companies in North America for the seventh year in a row, as ranked by Deloitte!

Why This Role is Exciting

This role exists to make our marketing systems reliable - so campaigns launch clean, leads route correctly, and the data behind our funnel can be trusted.

You'll be the hands-on operator of our marketing systems: the person actually in Marketo day-to-day, configuring, maintaining, and optimising it, and diagnosing and fixing what breaks across our connected systems. You'll set the technical standard our execution partners work to, with real autonomy in how you get the work done in a scalable way.

Location: Remote, Canada (ET Timezone preferred)

Travel Requirements: <10%. Once or twice a year.

Key Responsibilities

Serving as the hands-on technical owner of our marketing technology stack - Marketing Automation Platform (Marketo) and the surrounding tools (webinar/event platforms, enrichment and ABM tools, email build platform, etc.) - configuring, maintaining, and optimising each, and acting as the go-to expert on how they all work and talk to each other. You'll also evaluate and recommend new tools as gaps come up.
Owning our core operational programs: lead lifecycle and scoring, nurture architecture, and other key operational campaigns. You'll govern them, find where they're leaking, underperforming or silently wrong, redesign the logic where it needs it, and build new programs - with modular, cloneable design.
Integration and troubleshooting, independently: sync failures, routing errors, field mapping, webinar and event platform connections, and any tool in the stack that won't talk to another.
Maintaining email channel operations: segmentation and personalisation logic, dynamic content, deliverability, and send governance - frequency rules, suppression and audience conflicts - so the channel stays healthy as volume grows.
Tracking, attribution, and data: UTM tracking standards, campaign and channel taxonomy, and the attribution tooling that sits on top - you'll own and maintain it, and support campaign performance reporting by making sure the underlying data is accurate, complete, and readily accessible to whoever's building the report.
Maintaining data integrity: you define what clean means and make sure it holds - data hygiene, dedupe, normalisation, enrichment, purging - so records flow correctly through the funnel.
Setting the standards the function runs on and documentation for our key processes and systems - and keeping that documentation current as programs, tools, and workflows evolve, so the function runs on shared knowledge.
Partnering directly with Demand Gen, Events, and Sales - turning their goals into what the systems do and running an intake/prioritisation approach.
Directing our external execution agency - setting the specs, standards, and quality bar they build to - and mentoring the team as we grow.
Drive AI-powered automation. Find ways to use AI to optimize scoring, segmentation, QA, and repetitive tasks - with governance.

Attributes for a Successful Candidate

5+ years in marketing operations, ideally B2B SaaS.
Marketo Certified Expert (Adobe Certified Expert - Marketo Engage), or equivalent demonstrated hands-on experience.
Deep hands-on Marketo experience, with strong functional fluency in Salesforce - you understand its data model and how it talks to Marketo well enough to diagnose sync and integration issues yourself.
You've owned a lead lifecycle and scoring model in production and materially improved it - you can explain what was wrong, what you changed, and how you knew it worked.
You've implemented and maintained tracking and attribution infrastructure that reporting depended on.
Strong email operations background: segmentation and personalisation logic, nurture builds, and working knowledge of deliverability and sender reputation.
A track record of working independently - sole or senior technical owner of an instance.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with GDPR/CCPA.
Experience directing an agency and mentoring team.
Webinar, ABM or enrichment platforms (6sense, Clearbit, ZoomInfo, Clay, Rainfocus) and/or Modular email build platforms (Knak, Stensul or similar).

Compensation Range

CA$102K - CA$140K

At Optro, we provide a fair and competitive salary based on a variety of factors, including:

The scope and responsibilities of the role
Your relevant skills, experience, and certifications
Where you are physically located (based on our regional tier system)

Note on Internal Ranges: While the range above reflects our current budget for this hire, Optro maintains broader internal salary grades to allow for future career growth and merit-based increases within the role over time.

Perks (Canada)

Launch a career at one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in North America and EMEA!

Please note that background checks are required. Qualified Applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for Employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act. This role may have access to highly sensitive data, including employee data, customer data, company financials, and proprietary product information.
