About Orennia

Orennia provides an all-in-one platform for accurate data, predictive analytics and actionable insights across the energy transition. We drive faster capital allocation decisions and help our clients maximize returns across the solar, wind, storage, power, RNG, CCUS, clean fuels and hydrogen sectors. The technology that powers Orennia’s platform delivers an unparalleled experience, distilling information into actionable insights to give our clients a competitive edge.

As the world decarbonizes its energy stack, trillions in capital need to be deployed. Global investment in the energy transition must quadruple to over $5 trillion annually to stay on the 1.5°C pathway, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency. Without accurate data and predictive analytics, developers and investors will struggle to deploy capital efficiently and maximize returns. Orennia’s platform expedites the energy transition with effective and robust information for smarter capital allocation choices.

Why Join Orennia?

People are at the heart of the best technology companies. We’ve brought together some of the industry’s top experts and brightest minds in data orchestration, analytics, software development, and industry insights to uncover opportunities where others can’t. At Orennia, you’ll become part of a collaborative culture and do work that matters. We trust and support each other, ask hard questions and solve complex problems together. Guided by a spirit of inquiry, our team has a product-driven, continuous delivery mindset to drive our innovation forward.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on People & Recruitment Partner to join our People & Culture team. This role combines day-to-day HR business partnering with full-cycle recruitment ownership for non-sales roles across North America. You will work closely with leaders and employees throughout the employee lifecycle, providing practical HR guidance, supporting people programs and processes, and helping managers navigate day-to-day people matters. At the same time, you will independently manage recruitment across a diverse portfolio of corporate, technical, and operational roles. This is an execution-focused role for someone who enjoys being close to the business, can comfortably shift between employee matters and active searches, and thrives in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve quickly.

What You’ll Do

HR Business Partnering

  • Serve as a day-to-day People & Culture partner to managers and employees across the North American business.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and develop a practical understanding of their teams, roles, and people needs.
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations, performance management, attendance, leaves, workplace concerns, and other day-to-day people matters.
  • Partner with managers, employees, and cross-functional teams on onboarding, internal movements, promotions, organizational changes, and offboarding.
  • Identify employee and manager issues that require escalation and partner with the VP, People & Culture on more complex, sensitive, or higher-risk matters.
  • Support annual and recurring People processes, including performance cycles, compensation activities, employee engagement initiatives, and other People & Culture programs.
  • Help maintain accurate employee information and documentation within our HR systems.
  • Provide a strong employee experience by responding to questions and ensuring People processes are clear, timely, and well managed.
  • Assist the VP, Talent & Culture with ad hoc projects.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Own full-cycle recruitment for non-sales roles across North America, from intake through offer and to onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, establish recruitment plans, and run effective and efficient hiring processes.
  • Manage candidate pipelines and ensure roles continue to progress with appropriate urgency.
  • Support offer development and approvals.
  • Deliver a professional, engaging candidate experience from first contact through acceptance.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment data and provide regular updates on pipeline health, hiring progress, and recruitment challenges.
  • Continuously improve recruitment processes, templates, interview practices, and candidate experience.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner capacity.
  • 2+ years of hands-on, full-cycle recruitment experience, including direct candidate sourcing.
  • Strong practical experience supporting employee and managers with employee relations, performance management, employee lifecycle matters, and day-to-day HR questions.
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple recruitment processes across different functions and levels.
  • Experience recruiting for corporate, professional, technical, or operational roles is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian and/or U.S. employment practices, with the ability to recognize when an issue requires escalation or additional expertise.
  • Strong judgment and discretion when working with confidential or sensitive employee information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage competing HR and recruitment priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently while knowing when to escalate or collaborate.
  • Experience working in a startup, scale-up, or other high-growth environment is considered a strong asset.
