Purpose:

The Site Trainer’s primary role is to promote Safety in the Musselwhite work environment, while providing and developing training requirements for the Mine Site. In this key role, the successful candidate must demonstrate an exemplary employee attitude and practice towards Safety, along with a positive and energetic personality.

Responsibilities include:

Deliver Mill, and Underground Common Core training.
Deliver camp and other site-specific training as required.
Deliver equipment training and competency assessments.
Deliver site, mill, and underground inductions to new employees and contractors.
Develop, review, and revise training programs, packages, inductions, assessments, and supporting documentation.
Maintain accurate and complete training records and documentation.
Complete training needs analyses and develop training programs to address identified gaps.
Conduct field observations, coaching, and competency verification to identify training needs and support safe work practices.
Deliver specialty Common Core modules, as qualified.
Audit training programs, records, and documentation to support legislative compliance and site requirements.
Complete and document annual reviews of Train-the-Trainer qualifications and trainer competency, as required.

Education and Experience:

Minimum grade 12 or equivalent.
Underground Common Core modules 1-10 and Mill, Surface, or Underground specialty modules are considered an asset.
Minimum 5 years of relevant mining, industrial, or operational experience.
Experience developing training materials, delivering instruction, and assessing worker competency.
Knowledge of Ontario mining legislation, the Modular Training Standards, and applicable Ministry training requirements.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong commitment to safe work practices and effective coaching.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Working Conditions:

The work schedule for this position is 14 on,14 days off including travel to site, working 12-hour days.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is $120,000 to $128,000 per year, depending on skills, experience.
This role is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual short term incentive The target annual bonus for this position is 15% of base salary, subject to individual and company performance.
The Company offers a Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), including an automatic 5% employer contribution, with the option for employees to receive up to an additional 4% employer match on employee.
