We are seeking creative, dynamic, and committed teachers to join our team at Merivale Intermediate School.

Merivale High School is a 7-12 school that serves a diverse school community. Our Intermediate Program was launched in 2017 and offers both English and French Immersion programs, as well as extra-curricular experiences with teams and clubs. Our students are challenged to reach their full potential and are supported on their learning journey by our dedicated and energetic staff. We emphasize the development of essential knowledge and skills, creative and critical thinking, respect for others, and engagement with the learning process.

Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board’s (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school, and the District, by creating a positive and inclusive school climate, learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully, with a human rights and equity perspective, to foster student success, achievement and well-being.

This posting is open to all Occasional Teachers who DO NOT already have a part time contract.

• If you are fully external to the OCDSB, you are encouraged to apply to this posting if you have the required qualifications.

• All OCDSB Elementary Contract teachers (full-time & part-time teachers, teachers interested in transferring or increasing status) are equally eligible to apply for this OCDSB vacancy for which they are qualified.
• Qualified OT Roster applicants: At least three (3) teachers, who are currently employed as an occasional teacher with the OCDSB, and who have the required OCT qualifications and who best meet the criteria outlined in the job posting.
• If fewer than three (3) qualified applicants apply, all qualified applicants will be interviewed.
